SBP Seeks Costumer for SPAMALOT

SBPShowbiz Players is now interviewing for costumer for their production of Monty Python’s SPAMALOT, which will be presented at the Carnegie in Covington in late May of 2014.

Showbiz has resources for some of the costumes used in the London and the National Tour productions. Most all of the costumes will be rented, except for those that will need to be custom made. Sewing capability is a must. The costume budget is rather large (by Community Theater standards) and a stipend can be paid to qualified individuals.

Auditions will be in December of 2013. Any interested parties should contact Bunny Arszman (barszman@gmail.com or 513-325-7842).

SBP Announce 2013-2014 Season

SHOWBIZ PLAYERS ANNOUNCE 2013-2014 SEASON

SBPCARRIE…THE MUSICAL
Sept. 20-29, 2013

Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she’s an outcast who’s bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she’s at the mercy of her loving but cruelly over-protective mother. But Carrie’s just discovered she’s got a special power, and if pushed too far, she’s not afraid to use it…

Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, the musical of Carrie hasn’t been seen since its legendary 1988 Broadway production. Now, the show’s original authors have joined with director Stafford Arima (Altar Boyz) and MCC Theater for a newly reworked and fully re-imagined vision of this gripping tale. Set today, in the small town of Chamberlain, Maine, Carrie features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic film), music by Academy Award winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), and lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose).

Monty Python’s SPAMALOT
May 30-June 8, 2014

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful showgirls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful showgirls?

All performances will be held at the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center, 1028 Scott Blvd, Covington, KY 41011. More information will be coming soon to our website www.showbizplayers.com. If you have any question, call Bunny Arszman at 513-325-7842.
