Rivertown Players Inc Presents TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE at the Glenmore Playhouse

RP_logoThrough special arrangements with Dramatists Play Service, Rivertown Players, Inc. of Lawrenceburg, Indiana will be presenting TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE at the Glenmore Playhouse, 3716 Glenmore Avenue, Cheviot Ohio.

The play will run January 8, 9 and 10th 2015 with curtain at 7:30 PM. A matinee will be held on Jan 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM. You may purchase tickets on line at http://www.showtix4u.com or by calling the ticket hotline 812-532-3078. Ticket prices are $15.00.

The play is a poignant, life-affirming drama that tells the autobiographical story of Mitch Alborn (Ray Persing) an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career and Morrie Schwartz (portrayed by Kent Smith) his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie’s appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig’s disease. They are reunited and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life. The production is directed by Amanda Borchers, and produced by Victoria Garcia.

As two American hikers explore the Scottish highlands they encounter something not on their map. They discover the lost town of Brigadoon, which resulting from a miracle from God, comes to life only for one day every century. One of the Americans, Tommy Albright, happens to fall in love with a local girl, Fiona MacLaren. The problem is that if Tommy stays in the town for more than a day, he can never return home to New York. Not trusting him emotions, Tommy returns home to his fiancée , Jane Ashton, whom he really does not want to marry. In the end, at the last minute, Tommy cancels his wedding and returns to Scotland. In another miracle, because Tommy’s love for Fiona is so great, Brigadoon returns for another brief moment to allow Tommy to enter and never return to the outside world. -StageAgent.com

Saturday, April 26th at 10:00am
Sunday, April 27th at 2:00pm

Auditions will be held at Hamline Chapel UMC, High and Vine Streets, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025

Be prepared to sing a short song that showcases your talent, read from the script, and dance.

We need a large chorus and dancers! Anyone ages 10 to 100+ is welcome!
