The Prom tells the story of four washed up Broadway performers looking for a “cause” to boost their public image. They find Emma, a high-schooler in Indiana who was denied the opportunity to take her girlfriend to their prom. Can this motley crew change the minds of the people of the town so that Emma, and anyone who is different, can have the prom they deserve? It is a feel-good musical comedy with lots of upbeat songs and high-energy dancing.

RENT is the world-famous musical that tells the story of a group of friends struggling to survive in NYC surrounded by poverty, drug addiction and the AIDS epidemic at the end of the 20th century. The show is viewed through the lens of Mark Cohen, the common bond of the group and narrator of the show. It features such Broadway staples like, “Take Me or Leave Me,” “Out Tonight,” “One Song Glory” and “Seasons of Love.”

Auditions announced for RENT at Queen City Productions

The show is viewed through the lens of Mark Cohen, the common bond of the group and narrator of the show. It features such Broadway staples like, “Take Me or Leave Me,” “Out Tonight,” “One Song Glory” and “Seasons of Love.” Don’t miss out on your chance to be part of this powerful production.

Auditionees should:

  • be at least 16 years old
  • prepare a song from the Broadway or pop-rock repertoire. the song should also be one that tells a story and can show your acting ability as the show is considered a “rock opera” and is primarily told through song.
  • bring a backing track or be prepared to sing a cappella (no accompanist will be present)
  • be prepared to learn a short movement combination

The Wedding Singer: the Musical Comedy is the hilarious stage adaptation of the hit film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. It tells the story of Robbie Hart; a semi-successful wedding singer who is left standing at the altar by his rocker girlfriend Linda. Luckily, he also meets Julia, a hopeless romantic who is waiting on her own proposal from her Wall Street mogul boyfriend Glen. All of this, set against the vibrant backdrop of 1980’s New Jersey! Will Robby recover from the heartbreak? Will Julia get the wedding of her dreams? Come see Queen City Productions’ presentation of The Wedding Singer and find out!
