MLT_logoMiddletown Lyric Theatre a Thirty-Seven year old community theatre located in downtown Middletown, Ohio is looking for a, part-time, Technical Director for their five show season beginning in Mid-July.

We are looking for a person with strong carpentry skills and the creative ability for “repurposing.” The desired candidate will also have a strong knowledge of electrics and a working knowledge of sound. You should be a self-starter and able to work safe and independently. In addition to technical responsibilities there may, on occasion, be light maintenance or other general up-keep projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a current or recent graduate of a technical theatre program looking to build their resume. Design opportunities are available for the right person if so desired. You will work closely with in-house scenic and lighting designers.

Middletown Lyric Theatre is built on a solid foundation and beliefs of community theatre and portion of this paid position will be a certain amount of volunteer hours per show.

NOVEMBER Runs May 29-June 6

MLT_November logoNOVEMBER
Presented by Middletown Lyric Theatre
May 29-June 6
Middletown

Directed by Claire LaNicca

Cast: David Jenkins, Melodie La Nicca, Dan Nieman, Julie Poux & Michael Schlotterbeck

A beleaguered, American commander-in-chief. It’s November in a Presidential election year, and incumbent Charles Smith’s chances for reelection are looking grim. Approval ratings are down, his money’s running out, and nuclear war might be imminent. Though his staff has thrown in the towel and his wife has begun to prepare for her post-White House life, Chuck isn’t ready to give up just yet. Amidst the biggest fight of his political career, the President has to find time to pardon a couple of turkeys — saving them from the slaughter before Thanksgiving — and this simple PR event inspires Smith to risk it all in attempt to win back public support. With Mamet’s characteristic no-holds-barred style, November is a scathingly hilarious take on the state of America today and the lengths to which people will go to win. This play does contain strong adult language
