Auditions Announced for THE OUTGOING TIDE at Mariemont Players

MPI_logoMariemont Players and director Dan Maloney announce auditions for THE OUTGOING TIDE by Bruce Graham.

  • 7 PM Monday, January 8th
  • 7 PM Tuesday, January 9th

Location: 4101 Walton Creek Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45227

Performance Dates: May 11-27

Synopsis
In a summer cottage on Chesapeake Bay, Gunner has hatched an unorthodox plan to secure his family’s future but meets with resistance from his wife and son. As winter approaches, the three must quickly find common ground and come to an understanding – before the tide goes out.

Characters

  • Gunner
Early 70’s. Retired from the trucking business and now lives with his wife Peg on the Chesapeake Bay. Still vibrant. Wears the world’s oldest, most comfortable fishing clothes. Though it’s never named in the script, he is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s.
  • Peg
Late 60’s. Energetic. Strong. She is the rock. She takes care of her family. It’s what she does. It’s who she is.
  • Jack
Gunner and Peg’s son. Pleasant, but distant. Seems out of place. Going through a divorce.

Please note, ages listed are stage ages. Actors auditioning can be older/younger in real life, but they have to believably be able to play the ages listed in the script.

Rehearsals will begin around the middle of March and will be determined by the availability of the cast. Please bring known conflicts from March 12th to May 27th. Please note, there is a 2 PM performance on Mother’s Day – Sunday, May 13th.

Resumes and head shots are appreciated but not required. For more information or to review the script, contact director Dan Maloney at maloneykd@gmail.com.
