GHCT to Replace THE SOUND OF MUSIC in December

GHCY_logoDue to unforeseen changes in our licensing agreement with the Rodgers and Hammerstein organization, we regret to announce that we will be unable to produce THE SOUND OF MUSIC as part of our 2014-2015 season.

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.
We are currently in the process of choosing a new show for our December time slot.
Once the new show is selected, we will announce the audition information.

ON GOLDEN POND Runs Feb. 6-9

GHCT_On Golden PondON GOLDEN POND
Presented by Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre
Feb. 6-9
Hamilton

Directed by Joe Nagle & Dick Gentry

Cast: Jim Ward as Norman Thayer, Jr., Denise Cox as Ethel Thayer, Bob McClain as Charlie Martin, Tiffani Anglin as Chelsea Thayer Wayne, Nathan Sansone as Billy Ray & Tom Dierling as Bill Ray

This is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year. They are visited by their divorced, middle-aged daughter and her dentist fiancé, who then go off to Europe, leaving his teenage son behind for the summer. The boy quickly becomes the “grandchild” the elderly couple have longed for. In the end, as the summer wanes, so does their brief idyll, and in the final, deeply moving moments of the play, Norman and Ethel are brought even closer together by the incidence of a mild heart attack. Time, they know, is now against them, but the years have been good and, perhaps, another summer on Golden Pond still awaits.
