This brassy, bold musical comedy follows the hapless but unflappable Charity Hope Valentine in her search for love, friendship, and the chance to make it big in The Big Apple. This Tony Award nominated, dance-infused musical captures all the humor and heartbreak of life in 1960s New York City.

Cast Announced for JERRY’S GIRLS at Cincinnati Music Theatre

Cincinnati Music Theatre is pleased to announce the cast of JERRY’S GIRLS, their final show in the studio series this season.

Singing the well-loved songs of Jerry Herman will be Marypat Carletti, Chelsea Harris, Karen Galliers Hendershot, Jenni Sheets Parsons and Beth McClain Schnell.

JERRY’S GIRLS is directed by Dianna L. Davis, music directed by Emily Clements, and produced by Kathy Beiting.

Performance dates are May 30 and 31, June 6 and 7 in the Fifth Third Theater of the Aronoff Center.

Walk-ins are welcome and will be seen in the next available slot.

PLEASE PREPARE & PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR AUDITION:

  • 16-32 bars of a Jerry Herman song that showcases your vocal range;
  • Sheet music in the proper key with cuts marked.
  • An accompanist will be provided (no CD’s, tapes or a cappella
    numbers);
  • A copy of your resume and headshot.
  • Those auditioning will be asked to participate in a short dance
    combination which will include tap. Bring tap shoes if you have them,
    though not all cast members will be required to tap.

JERRY’S GIRLS is directed by Dianna L. Davis, produced by Kathy Beiting, with music
direction by Emily Clements.

Performances are be performed May 30 and 31, June 6 and 7, 2025, in the Fifth Third Theater, Aronoff Center for the Arts.

In Memoriam of Nita Ann Clarisey

-via Cincinnati Music Theatre

Cincinnati Music Theatre mourns the passing of longtime member, Nita Clarisey.

Nita was involved with 16 Cincinnati Music Theatre productions. Nita’s first CMT Production was playing Keyboard in the Orchestra of ‘Secret Garden’ in 1996. She spent 17 years with CMT, from playing in the pits of many orchestras to accompanying auditions and rehearsals as well. Her most recent CMT credits include ‘A Chorus Line’, ‘Titanic’, and many more. She even played the piano for CMT President Kathy Beiting and husband John’s wedding.

Nita retired as a Speech-Language Pathologist in 1993, when she then focused on her true passion: music. She became a sought-after accompianist for many theatre and choral groups.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nita’s family, friends, and community.

Thank you for the music, Nita.
