Written by Cynthia “C.J.” Johnson

A stressed-out CEO wife creates a chilly atmosphere that tempts her mechanic husband to seek the warmth of a fling with a cute but “loose” cleaning woman. Husband is found out and kicked out. From the distance that hurt has created, husband and wife attempt to travel back to each other and to the kind of love that led to their marriage. A cast of sometimes hilarious supporting characters, with their own issues, populate the trip.

Cast: Miranda McGee as Gail, Nik Pajic as Mitch & Chris Wesselman as Todd/Vlad/Holiday

To top it off, they’re both trying to commit suicide by jumping off the very same spot on the very same bridge, and there’s not enough room for the both of them. With no jumping room and nothing left to lose, they team up to cross a few things off their bucket lists before taking the final plunge. Along the way they find adventure, understanding, and maybe even love.

KTC_Series2SERIALS 2: THE THUNDERDOME
Presented by Know Theatre of Cincinnati
Feb. 2-March 30
Over-the-Rhine

SERIALS is Know Theatre’s Monday Night program of new plays by local writers, told in fortnightly installments over the course of 10 weeks. Season 1 featured 6 complete plays over the course of 6 episodes in Summer 2014. And this winter it’s time for SERIALS 2: THE THUNDERDOME

How does it work? 15 minute episodes, every two weeks, a total of 5 installments. In each installment, we’ll present 5 shows. At the end of the evening, the audience will vote on which 3 plays get to continue for another episode.

There’s an element of competition, but we’re also hoping to build a strong community, both in the artists putting the shows together and the audiences that are directly invested in what appears onstage.
