Somewhere between Camelot and modern day, between IPADs and poisoned Apples, between ballet and uptown funk, this fractured fairy tale brings the classic characters of Hans Christian Anderson to life. Thumbelina, the not so tiny dancer, who is transformed into a beautiful ballerina; Jenny, the diamond studded and care free Nightingale (Mae West character); Heny, the ugly duckling turned obnoxious comedian (a cross between Heny Youngman and Groucho Marx); Sunny and Share, the dynamic singing duck duo topping the charts at Swan Lake; the directionally challenged Princess Gardenia who unexpectedly finds romance; Bruno, the valiant tin soldier who dances hip-hop; and the appalling proclivities of the robe shedding Emperor, are all re-imagined into this delightful play for the whole family. Audiences will be pleasantly surprised to recognize entertainers from the past and present. Laugh along and find out how a diverse group of fairy tale characters and a trio of ogres work together to save the Snow Queen from her diabolical fiancé.

Elsa and Anna are sisters and princesses, but have grown up very differently despite living in the same castle. Anna has grown up curious and headstrong while Elsa has grown up living in fear of her own hidden powers. Things change when Elsa’s icy abilities erupt at her coronation, sending her fleeing for the mountains and blanketing the land in an eternal winter. It’s up to Anna with the help of her friends to reach Elsa and bring an end to their frozen world while bringing her sister back home.

Vasilisa is more than your typical hoppy-go-lucky frog, though…she’s a kindhearted princess under a curse! When the villainous Old Bones takes Vasilisa to a far-away land, Ivan sets out to save her, discovering along his journey that love sees beyond outside appearances. With a revitalized script and score, this modern, musical spin on the famous Russian fairy tale celebrates the beauty within each of us. This production is suitable for all audiences.

October 30, 2019 (CINCINNATI, OH) – Louisville, KY based professional magician Cody Clark, as his children’s magic character Conductor Cody, will be performing his holiday magic show Conductor Cody’s Christmas Express! at Haines House of Cards magic shop in Norwood on St. Nicholas Day (Fri. Dec. 6th) at 7 PM
In the style of classic holiday movies such as The Polar Express, Cody takes audiences on a train trip to the North Pole, with magic moments a plenty. Golden train tickets will be torn & restored, hot chocolate will magically appear, and after the show is over, your family will get to meet Santa! Through magic, audience participation, and creative storytelling, Conductor Cody’s Christmas Express! will be the catalyst for great holiday memories!
Cody Clark has been performing magic for 15 years. He is no stranger to Cincinnati, having performed in the 2015 & 2019 Cincinnati Fringe Festivals. His children’s character Conductor Cody is inspired by his childhood love of trains and George Carlin’s stint as Thomas the Tank Engine narrator Mr. Conductor. He performs this show at birthday parties, railroad museums, and libraries across America.
