SHE’S CRAZY: Mental Health & Other Myths at ETC on Aug. 16

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati is partnering with Stop the Stigma Productions to present our show She’s Crazy: Mental Health & Other Myths for one night only – Wednesday, August 16th at 6:00 pm at ETC (1127 Vine St, Cincinnati Ohio 45202). Admission is free, with donations to support STSP’s continued work in the community welcome.

She’s Crazy: Mental Health & Other Myths is a musical theater edutainment show that educates, uplifts, and inspires audiences to rethink the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction through humor, personal stories, and songs. Topics addressed include depression, bipolar disorder, addiction, PTSD, and suicide.

CCM Musical Theatre alumnus and star of the stage and screen, Aaron Lazar, presents his cabaret From Broadway to Hollywood, which follows his expansive stage-to-screen career with songs from his many Broadway credits, a medley of film and musical theatre classics and more. With a voice that has been characterized as “velvety”, Lazar’s reputation for “reliably robust pipes” and “a sterling tone and wide, almost effortless range” guarantees the audience an evening of exceptional entertainment, up close and personal with one of Broadway’s most charismatic leading men.

Sweaty Girl Summer is Here With “Alphas: HOT! HOT! HOT! – A Comedy Variety Show” on Aug. 26

MISC_AlphasNewport, KY – Alphas Improv Comedy is thrilled to present “Alphas: HOT! HOT! HOT! – A Comedy Variety Show” at Falcon Theatre on Saturday, August 26 at 8pm. 

An original show honoring all of summer’s second degree sunburned adventures, “Alphas: HOT! HOT! HOT! – A Comedy Variety Show” is a one-hour thematic joyride featuring sketch comedy, improv, live music, stand-up, and dance routines so goofy you’ll be mind-blown to realize that you are not in fact watching the Radio City Rockettes.

It’s Back! PLAY(UNDER)GROUND Returns at Know Theatre

KTC_Play UndergroundWe’ve spent much of 2023 so far gradually reopening our UnderGround bar for service before and after our shows, and we’re basically doing cartwheels with glee that we’re ready to spring back into our Play(under)Ground line of free post-show programming.

You’re always welcome at a Play(under)Ground performance, regardless of whether you’ve seen the show that night, so stop by, grab a drink from the bar, and treat yourself to a little late-evening entertainment.

ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD Runs July 28-Aug. 5 at Cincinnati Actor’s Studio & Academy

CASA_Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are DeadJoin CASA for this absurdist romp through Shakespeare’s Hamlet!

Why do we feel the need to submit to norms and expectations at the cost of our own identities?

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead details the unremarkable lives of two nobodies trying to find their places in a world of chaos and motion. Written by Sir Tom Stoppard and first staged in 1966, the show asks enduring questions about the nature of life, death, art, performance, reality, identity, and most importantly, takes special care to provide not a single answer.

Ticket and Production Details

Performances will be on Friday, July 28th, July 29th, August 3rd-5th, all shows at 7:30pm. All performances will be at Essex Studios (2511 Essex Place, Studio 282B, Cincinnati, OH 45206.

Portions of each ticket will go towards Living With Change, a local nonprofit that specializes in education and advocacy for trans youth.
