CFF13: A KILLING GAME

Reviews: Behind the Curtain | CityBeat |

In a not-so-distant time and place, a deadly plague begins killing the citizenry–inexplicably, indiscriminately, and fast! Can you play against death, and win? How far will you go? How hard can you play? How much fun can you have? Who knows when you’ll have another chance. Besides: We can’t all die, can we? A KILLING GAME is dog & pony dc’s absurdist-play-meets-party-game that Washington Post proclaimed “the gratification is immediate…more Airplane than Andromeda Strain” and DC Theatre Scene declared “It’s all grand fun…not to mention inventive theatre.”

You Make the Choice in Pones Inc.’s CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE

YOU MAKE THE CHOICES IN PONES INC.’S INTERACTIVE DANCE NARRATIVE: CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE

CFF_Choose Your Own AdventureCovington KY– Pones Inc.’s sixth Cincy Fringe Festival piece, CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE, is created in the style of the popular children’s book series. The audience will make the decisions that dictate the action of the story. They will be part of every movement, making decisions that drive the story, from minor things like what the cast wears, to huge plot points such as what door to enter or where to travel next. In typical Pones fashion, the division between audience and performer will be eliminated and viewers will truly step into the story as they become the authors of the performance.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE also features work from local collaborators including: music from local composers, choreography from Cincinnati dancers, stories from six local writers, costumes from El Malott, and a large story book set designed by Modern Makers. If that’s not enough to get all of Cincinnati buzzing, try enjoying the performance on more than one night, as the audience participation in each story-telling experience will make each performance one of a kind!

THE CHRONICLE
Presented by Know Theatre Cincinnati as part of the Fall Fringe Festival
Sept. 19
Over-the-Rhine

Lives deconstructed. Because we care. OTRimprov, heading into their Fall Series starting October 6th, is proud to once again present their flagship production, first introduced to Cincinnati audiences at the 2012 Cincinnati Fringe Festival. Inspired by one of the most popular shows to emerge from the Chicago improv scene, THE CHRONICLE is OTRimprov’s take on the Armando Diaz Experience, a long-form improvisation created at improvOlympic Chicago, where a special guest shares personal stories that weave into scenes inspired by the monologues. OTRi will once again tap Fringe artists as their storytellers for this encore production where we do whatever the hell we want with other people’s lives. OTRi is Know Theatre’s house improv team and member of the Jackson Street Market.

Wayburn Sassy is an 89 year old self-proclaimed “Entertainment Legend” and America’s Favorite Bigot. Wayburn fears Blacks, Jews, Hispanics, Japanese, Arabs, Islanders, the Taiwanese, bongo players, men in kilts, and above ALL he fears ” Whimsicals” (Wayburn’s word for Gay Men). Wayburn has the excellent fortune of sharing the stage with his “Amorous Amazon,” his “Leggy Lolita,” his “Girl-with-the-Gorgeous-Gams,” Miss Didi Panache. Didi loves everyone, but she loves Wayburn best. Together, this irreverent twosome transport the audience to a place where no subject is taboo and everyone takes part in the joke.
