Production Roles Available for LEGALLY BLONDE ’26 at Rivertown Players, Inc.

Join Our Production Team for LEGALLY BLONDE

Hey friends! We’re officially in the early stages of bringing Legally Blonde: The Musical to the stage next summer and we’re looking for talented individuals to join our production team! As with all of our productions, these are volunteer positions, and we couldn’t do it without the amazing support of people like you.

KEY DETAILS
Performances: All shows will be held at Lawrenceburg High School across two weekends: July 17-19, 2026 and July 24-26, 2026.

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will be at Hamline Chapel in Lawrenceburg. The schedule is flexible and will be determined by the production team once all key roles are filled.

Call for Submissions for HOME BREW THEATRE 9 at The Drama Workshop

The Drama Workshop is now accepting submissions for HOME BREW THEATRE 9

Home Brew Theatre is TDW’s festival featuring short plays by local authors, including a Meet the Artists reception where local beer is featured. Since Home Brew Theatre’s inception in 2016, it has quickly become Cincinnati’s premiere short play festival.

HOME BREW THEATRE 9 will be staged at TDW’s Glenmore Playhouse one weekend only, January 10-12, 2026. 

Submission Rules:

  • Plays on any topic will be considered. There is no theme. Dramas, comedies and musicals will be considered.
  • Plays must be 10 minutes long. Please limit to 10 pages. If plays time out as longer once rehearsals start, you may be asked to make edits.
  • Plays must be unpublished.
  • Plays must not have been performed for a paying audience in the greater Cincinnati area in the two years prior to the January 2026 performance. (Public readings and workshops are permitted.)
  • Plays should require very little in terms of props and sets. We have to transition quickly between plays. We will use tables, chairs, rehearsal cubes, and not much else.
  • Playwrights must live within 100 miles of Cincinnati, and are encouraged to attend at least one performance. 
  • Limit 2 submissions per playwright. (Maximum 1 per playwright will be produced.)
  • Submitted plays must be anonymous. No identifying information can appear on the document itself. Playwright contact information will be collected via the submission form
  • If selected, Playwrights will receive a small honorarium and a complimentary ticket.
  • Playwrights may be consulted regarding production aspects of their plays, but final decision-making resides with the production creative team and The Drama Workshop.
  • All performance and publishing rights will remain the ownership of the authors.

Directors Sought for Upcoming Productions at Rivertown Players

Rivertown Players Inc is looking for directors for the following types of shows:

  • Fall murder mysteries- three 30 min murder mystery plays (Auditions Aug 16th/18th, performances Oct 17-19)
  • Winter- Christmas themed Broadway musical (Auditions Sept, performances Nov 14-16 and Dec 12-14)

ROGER BRADEN AUTHORED ALWAYS AT THE EDGE OF DEATH- THE LIFE OF A COAL MINER. BASED ON BRADEN’S BOOK, GREG SLAGLE, OF KINETISCOPE [OFFICES IN NEW YORK CITY} AND BRADEN CO-WROTE THE SCREENPLAY “CRY OF THE CANARIES“.

“CRY OF THE CANARIES” WILL BE PRESENTED TO NATIONAL PRODUCERS FOR CONSIDERATON AT THE BEGINNING OF 2026. THE TRAILER, WHICH WILL ACCOMPANY THE SCREENPLAY, IS THE SUBJECT OF THIS CAST CALL. FILMING OF THE TRAILER WILL BEGIN SHORTLY AFTER SELECTION OF ACTORS AND SUPPORT TEAM.

As with any screenplay, the involvement of the actors and support team in the trailer vary. Many actors will be involved with a single scene, while other actors will be involved with 2 scenes, and others involved with multiple scenes.

Support team role involvement also varies. Regardless, all actors and support team members selected, on and off screen, will be individually listed in the credits of the final product forwarded to the national producers.

TIMING OF CASTING OF INTERVIEWS

The screenplay is based on a mine explosion that occurred in 1989 resulting in multiple deaths and the actions taken as the result of that explosion. Braden, one of the lawyers representing two of the families and another lawyer representing 3 of the families, teamed up to take on the mining company to get justice for the families. This story is about that journey, plus much more.

Directors Sought for 2026-2027 Season at Dayton Playhouse
