Auditions Announced for SOME ENCHANTED SHOWSTOPPERS by Cincinnati Christian Community Theatre

CCCT_logoWe are still searching for the right name, but we’ll call it “Some Enchanted Showstoppers” (SES) for now because SES will combine the concepts of two previous CCCT productions, the simplicity of “Some Enchanted Evening” and the depth and breadth of “Broadway Showstoppers.” SES will include 15-30 minute segments from four or five Broadway shows. Some of the shows that we are considering are: “Into the Woods,” “Newsies,” “Children of Eden,” “The Drowsy Chaperone,” “Les Miserables,” “Wicked” and others that auditionees may propose. We will also cast a small improv team that will perform sketches between segments.

For auditions, please prepare an entire song that you seriously want to perform in the show from one of the shows above or another of your choosing. Bring a track to accompany your audition, no acapella auditions. Also prepare a one minute comic monologue and come prepared to dance. There will be a tap audition.

We’re looking for 30-35 performers ages 13 and older.

Auditions will be the first two weekends in May. If you cannot make the audition times, please arrange to send a video audition.

AVENUE Q is a gut-bustingly hilarious modern musical focusing on a group of unique 20-somethings making their way in the big city, seeking their purpose in life. Although the show addresses humorous adult issues, it is similar to a beloved children’s show; a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good and life lessons are learned.

Winner of the Tony “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, AVENUE Q is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart. AVENUE Q is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.
