Virtual Auditions Announced for CaBARTret at Bart’s Bards

We are very excited to announce auditions for our 5th Annual CaBARTret!

Directed by Maddy Weinkam & Jeff Weinkam

Vocal Directed by Madelaine Wilkerson

The show will be ONE NIGHT ONLY on November 8th and rehearsals will be minimal. The show will be comprised of solos/small group songs and 3 large group numbers. You must be at least 18 years old and out of high school to participate.

The theme for this year is “Echoes of History” meaning we will be doing selections of songs from shows based on true stories (see here for examples: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/…/Category:Musicals_inspired…)

There will be no in person auditions this year. ALL auditions will be virtual!

Video auditions must be received by September 14th at 5:00pm. Please send videos to BartsBards@gmail.com

What we need for your audition:

  • 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song you would like to perform in the show that fits the theme (you may be asked to sing something different for the show if the directors so choose)
  • A brief (1 minute or less) explanation of why you want to be a part of this year’s CaBARTret

Note: if you have participated in a Bart’s Bards show within the last 5 years and wish to ONLY be in the large group numbers, you do not need to audition. Just send us an email by September 13th letting us know you would like to be in the group numbers!

We look forward to hearing you soon!

Calling Directors for Home Brew Theatre 9

The Drama Workshop is seeking directors interested in directing a 10-minute play as part of Home Brew Theatre 9.

Home Brew Theatre is The Drama Workshop’s celebration of the short play format. We present four performances of full productions of 9 or 10 short plays, followed by a “Meet The Artists” reception after each performance featuring local beer. If selected to direct, you will also play a role in final play selection. A short list of 17 plays will be given to directors to select their top 5.
