ACT Winter Forum On Feb. 24

ACT_logoJoin us on Saturday, February 24th from 10:00am- 1:00pm ET for ACT Cincinnati’s Annual Winter Forum, presented by ACT’s Long-Range Judging Committee.

This year’s forum will be a live, in-person event hosted at 8 North Center for the Arts, Village Players of Fort Thomas’ home in Fort Thomas, KY. Attendees will get the chance to listen and ask questions of some of the most respected and knowledgeable people in our community as they talk about their areas of expertise.

Though the forum’s purpose is to help educate responders and ACT group presidents on what responders should be looking for when coming to see shows and how they should be responding to those observables, anyone involved in community theater- either onstage or offstage- will benefit from these presentations. Plus, there will be food! It’s a win-win.

This year’s presenters and topics are:

  • An introduction to intimacy coordinators with Torie Wilkins
  • Music direction 101 or “Conductors: not just for trains” with Linda Abbott
  • Blocking for thrust/in the round, also known as “Corners are your friend” with Jerry Wiesenhahn

Parking is available behind the building, as is the facility’s ADA entrance. Please sign up using this link so we can plan ahead for food: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0A4EADA82DAB9-47874438-actcincinnati

Video Auditions Announced for HAMLET

MISC_Auditions2Hello! We would formally like to invite you to audition for a summer of HAMLET in Cincinnati, Ohio.

This is a passion project headed up by a team of LGBTQIA+ folks with rehearsals in June, and free performances over several weekends in July.

Several main roles have been cast, but we are looking to fill out the team with a strong blend of performers. We are looking to ensure a fun, safe, and collaborative environment for all involved. If you love bringing Shakespeare to life, or would like to learn how to with a passionate and varied group of professional theater artists, this is a great opportunity!

This is a volunteer position that will include helping out with some backstage elements, ex: cleaning your own costume and helping to set up the show space each day.

  • 4 weekends of Shows:
