Health and Safety Update from Cincinnati Ballet

CB_new logoUPDATE: March 18, 2020

Cincinnati Ballet remains deeply committed to the health and safety of all our patrons, Otto M. Budig Academy students, and employees.  Our organization continues to closely monitor developments with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In light of recent recommendations and directives from government officials, we have a few updates for you today.

Mainstage Productions
Cincinnati Ballet is announcing that we will be rescheduling DIRECTOR’S CUT (April 30-May 2, 2020) and BOLD MOVIES (April 23-25, 2020) performances and creating a spectacular NEW COMBINED program featuring highlights from BOTH DIRECTOR’S CUT and BOLD MOVIES which we will perform July 23-25, 2020 at the Aronoff Center to recorded music. Now titled, BOLD MOVES PLUS will feature the following: Alejandro Cerrudo’s Extremely Close, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Bloom, Val Caniparoli’s Ibsen’s House, and Ohad Naharin’s Minus 16. This extended program will notably capture most of the beloved pieces from both programs and will serve as Cervilio Miguel Amador’s retirement performances before he joins the team at Cincinnati Ballet as our Acting Ballet Master for the 2020-2021 Season. The decision to reschedule these performances will allow our patrons to experience the athleticism and artistry of these compelling programs while also protecting the health of our community. If you are a ticket holder to an affected performance, you will be receiving an email shortly. In the meantime, here are two options to choose from:

DONATE YOUR TICKETS
As a valued member of the Cincinnati Ballet family, you can appreciate the impact of cancellations and rescheduling on our financial health. As a non-profit arts organization, Cincinnati Ballet resources are put to the test during an unprecedented crisis such as this. We are asking you to consider donating the cost of your tickets as a gift to Cincinnati Ballet, for which we will gratefully issue you a tax receipt.

In recognition of your generous support, your name will be listed on a special page in our program and online as a Cincinnati Ballet Hero during the 2020-2021 Season.

CINCINNATI BALLET ACCOUNT CREDIT
Alternatively, you can choose to place your ticket purchase value onto your Cincinnati Ballet account. This credit may be used towards our final performance of the season – Bold Moves Plus (July 23-25, 2020) – or any regularly scheduled performance for the 2020-2021 Season (with the exception of The Nutcracker). This credit will be available for you to use through July 31, 2021. After this time, the credit will automatically change to a tax-deductible donation.

If you need additional assistance, please call our Patron Engagement Team at 513-621-5282.

On behalf of the entire Cincinnati Ballet family – dancers, staff, and faculty – we truly appreciate your continued patronage and investment in Cincinnati Ballet and our vibrant arts community. We can’t wait to see you all again in our studios and on the stage. In the meantime, we remain committed to the power of dance, so please follow our social media pages for moments from past performances, online classes, and more exclusive content.

At the Ballet Center
In another step to stem the spread of COVID-19, Governor Mike DeWine ordered fitness centers and gyms, bowling alleys, public recreation centers, movie theaters, water parks and trampoline parks in Ohio to shutter at the end of business Monday, March 16, 2020.

Cincinnati Ballet leaders believe it is in the best interest of our students and faculty to put our Adult Dance & Fitness Division classes on a temporary break. We look forward to being in the studio with you again as soon as is safely possible.  Our team is working swiftly on some remote engagement options to help keep you fit at home. Please make sure to follow us on Facebook (Cincinnati Ballet & Otto M. Budig Academy) and Instagram for updates on digital classes and content. For those with active class passes, your expiration date will be extended to July 31, 2020.

At present, all Otto M. Budig Academy summer programs are anticipated to run as scheduled.

Remainder of 2019-2020 Season Cancelled at Dayton Theatre Guild

DTGDear Patrons,

The Dayton Theatre Guild regrets to announce that due to the Covid-19 virus, we will be cancelling the remainder of our season. Looking at the social distancing that is occurring overseas, we anticipate the US will alter its social distancing requirements two or three month after other nations that have been dealing with this longer alter their requirements. With that expectation, we are likely seeing a return to normal sometime in the Summer or Fall.

As you might expect, there was a lot of time, money, and effort already invested in Mornings at Seven by Paul Osborn. We purchased the rights for the show, scripts, actors spent weeks preparing, our set builder had nearly finished building the entire set, and our costumers had completed sewing all the costumes and were just about to tailor them for each actor. Our loss for The Old Man and the Old Moon will be less. Fortunately, we were able to cancel auditions before they occurred. We do however, have the lost revenue from not being able to present both productions along with requested refunds. Therefore, we would like to extend the option for you to help support the Dayton Theatre Guild by changing your ticket purchase into a donation. If you would like to help by changing your ticket purchase into a donation, we would be happy to send you a donation letter. However, we will also offer a refund if you purchased tickets and would prefer a refund. Our email is contactus@daytontheatreguild.org and our phone number is 937-278-5993. We hope that most will take us up on the offer to change your purchase into a donation. Therefore, we will assume you would like to change your ticket purchase into a donation if we DO NOT hear from you. You only need to contact us with a message indicting you would like a refund.

Thank you for your continued patronage and we wish you all good health.
