An Update From Your Know Theatre Family

KTC_Lets Play logoDear friends of the Know,

Thank you to all our friends and artists who are with us as we continue to assess developments regarding COVID-19.

We have received news about a ban on public gatherings over 100 in the State of Ohio.

Though our capacity is already under 100, we’re taking steps to be proactive in this moment to keep all who choose to come and play safe and healthy.

In addition to increased frequency of sanitization of surfaces throughout our space before, during, and after performances, we are also further reducing the capacity of current performances to 50 or under, to allow additional space between seats.

We continue to encourage all patrons, artists, and staff to wash hands for 20+ seconds frequently, avoid touching your face, avoid unnecessary physical contact, and most importantly, if you are feeling unwell or have been around someone feeling unwell, to make the choice to stay home.

The Know is happy to offer account credits for future performances if you need to stay home. Give us a call at 513-300-5669 to reschedule, get an account credit, or ask any questions you may have.

We will continue to assess the situation as news develops, and we thank you for being part of our community.

EARTH AND SKY Perfomances Cancelled at Mariemont Players

MPI_logo 2020Dear MPI Patrons,

It is with great sadness that we must cancel our March production of EARTH AND SKY. As you know, we are facing a health crisis due to the COVID-19 illness. As a result, Governor DeWine has issued a rule prohibiting gatherings of more than 100 people, which applies to Mariemont Players.

We know this is a disappointing decision for many of you, just as it is for us. Our cast and production crew have worked tirelessly on EARTH AND SKY, and they were very excited to bring you this wonderful production. But nothing is more important to us than the safety and health of our patrons, and, as difficult as it is, this is the right decision to make.

In addition, we are offering a full refund for anyone who has purchased tickets for EARTH AND SKY. Please contact the box office at 513.684.1236, or email us at waltoncreektheater@gmail.com, if you would like a refund.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and we fully intend to be back onstage as soon as our public health officials declare it is safe to do so. Keep an eye on mariemontplayers.com, as well as our Facebook page, for updates.

Thank you for your continued and valued support of Mariemont Players. We look forward to seeing you at the theater as soon as possible.

Regards,
Patrick Kramer
President, MPI Board of Directors

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati Temporarily Suspends Performances Due to Coronavirus

ETC_new_logo_banner(Cincinnati, OH) Amid the increasing public health threat of coronavirus, identified as COVID-19, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) is temporarily suspending all performances, events, and community programs, effective immediately. Although no confirmed cases of the virus have yet been identified in Hamilton County, Ohio as of this announcement, this decision comes as a response to mounting national concern regarding the outbreak.

ETC’s highest priority is to safeguard the well-being of its patrons, performers, volunteers, and staff and to support local officials, public health authorities, and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in minimizing the virus’s impact as much as possible.

The theatre is working to identify dates to reschedule its shows and ticket holders for upcoming performances will be contacted. Additionally, ETC will be relaxing its exchange policies and waive all fees to find suitable solutions for its patrons.

“While it pains our organization tremendously to put space between live theatre and its audiences, after hours of conversations internally, with our board, and with local leaders, we feel that this step is necessary and in the best interest of our community,” explains Producing Artistic Director D. Lynn Meyers. “Our thoughts right now are with the individuals and families who have been affected. Thank you for your understanding and assistance during this time, and we encourage everyone to support one another during this time of national uneasiness.”

In the interim, ETC encourages continuing standard precautions, including frequent hand washing, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth, as well avoiding close contact with people who are sick and anyone feeling ill to remain home as much as possible.

Popular Trivia Game Show and Live Podcast THE QUIZ BOX Comes to Cincinnati

KTC_The Quiz Box logoFor the past six years, comedy and trivia fans in Columbus, Ohio have been gathering monthly to laugh and win prizes at their favorite local game show, The Quiz Box, and now, for the first time ever, the show is hitting the road to Cincinnati.

Co-hosts Erik Tait (as seen on Penn & Teller: Fool Us) and Nickey Winkelman (as seen on Laughs TV) along with podcast producer Kevin Hendrix (as seen on Jeopardy!) are bringing THE QUIZ BOX to Know Theatre of Cincinnati on Saturday, March 28. This Columbus-based podcast and game show has been growing in popularity since its debut in 2014, bringing in local and touring comedians to play a game of impossible trivia to win prizes for audience counterparts.

Each audience member gets a chance to “play,” by receiving a raffle ticket upon entry to the show. The best part is: audience members don’t need to know any trivia at all. The comedian panelists who select raffle tickets from the “Bucket of People” answer ridiculous trivia questions and rack up points, which their audience counterpart gets to cash in later for some outrageous prizes.

Past guests on the show include comedian Michael Malone (Comedy Central, Showtime), Jason Banks (True TV) and Nina West (Ru Paul’s Drag Race).

The March 28 show at Know Theatre will feature Columbus comedian Amber Falter, Cincinnati’s own Kelly Collette, touring juggler and comedian Tony Steinbach, and special guest David Levy of True Theatre.

Find out more about The Quiz Box at www.quizboxcast.com, and listen to full episodes of the podcast on iTunes and Spotify. Tickets for the March 28 show are available through Know Theatre’s website or by going to www.quizboxcast.com/events/know
