Cast Announced for NANA’S NAUGHTY KNICKERS at The Drama Workshop

Director Judy Berrens, Producer Elaine Volker welcome Valeria Amburgey as Sylvia Charles (Nana), Tobie Braverman as Vera Walters, Samantha Morrissey Timmons as Bridget Charles, CJ Bossart as Tom O’Grady, Kent Smith as Mr. Schmidt, Stephanie Klein as Heather &  Victoria Covarrubias as Clair. Open spots include 2 UPS men and offstage voice.

A cast of has-been actors plan to revive their careers in “Drop Dead!,” a potboiler murder mystery directed by “Wonder Child of the Broadway Stage” Victoria Le Pewe. At the dress rehearsal the set falls, props break, and the producer and an actor are murdered. During the opening night performance, the murders continue. The remaining thespians must save the show and their careers, solve the mystery and stay alive for curtain calls!

The Carnegie Presents: Indiana University’s ANOTHER ROUND

(COVINGTON, KY) – This April harmonies will ring out at the Carnegie as the young men of the a cappella group, Another Round take the stage. The group of students from Indiana University will perform in the Otto M. Budig Theatre Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m.

The group, made famous when their predecessors’ version of “The 12 Days of Christmas” went viral, has been Indiana University’s premier male A Cappella group since 1996. Their shows include songs ranging from comedic arrangements like “Dry Campus,” to classic songs including “With a Little Help From my Friends,” “Lean on Me,” and “Back Home Again in Indiana.”

Founded in 1996 as Straight No Chaser, the group adopted the name Another Round in 2012 after members of the original group re-formed as the professional group Straight No Chaser.

Tickets are $25; $22 for Carnegie Members, ArtsPass Members, and students, and can be purchased through The Carnegie Box Office, open Tuesday through Friday 12pm – 5pm, in person, or by phone at (859) 957-1940. Tickets are also available online at www.thecarnegie.com.

The 2018-19 Carnegie Theatre Series is presented by the Otto M. Budig Family Foundation. Additional support comes from the Kentucky Department of Tourism.

Cast Announced for MERCURY at Know Theatre of Cincinnati

Andrew Ian Adams as Brian
Andrew’s previous Know appearances include the smash hit Neverwhere (2017) and 2016’s The Fisherman’s Wife (also by Mercury playwright Steve Yockey). He’s also a member of the Know-To-Go education program, bringing theater for young audiences to schools and libraries, and performs with OTRimprov.

James Creque as Nick
James has previously appeared at the Know in Hearts Like Fists (2015), All Childish Things (2015), The Fisherman’s Wife (2016), and SuperTrue (2018).

Eileen Earnest as Olive
Eileen has previously appeared at the Know in Beertown and The Fisherman’s Wife (both in 2016). She’s also a member of OTRimprov, the Know’s affiliated improv troupe.

Elizabeth Chinn Molloy as Heather
Elizabeth was last seen on the Know stage in 2018’s SuperTrue.

Robyn Novak as Pamela
We’re thrilled to have Robyn make her mainstage debut with Mercury following her appearances in Serials! and Cincy Fringe!

Tess Talbot as Alicia
Tess returns to the Know after appearing in Listen for the Light (2017) and playing the titular scientist in Ada and the Engine (2018).

Patrick Earl Phillips as Sam
Patrick is a familiar face to Know audiences from his many appearances at Serials! and Cincy Fringe; we’re delighted to welcome him to his Know Mainstage debut.

Directed by Andrew Hungerford. Performances run April 19-May 11.

The Passing of Norma Niinemets

Norma Jene Niinemets June 25, 1938 – March 16, 2019

Niinemets, Norma Jene (nee May), beloved wife of Thomas Niinemets, devoted mother of Betsy (Anthony) Farro, David (Katie Ezell) Niinemets and the late Todd Thompson, dear grandmother of Scott, Laura, Jason and Erica, great-grandmother of Edwin, sister of Lillian Schreiber and the late Katherine Lockwood and Dorothy Kramer. Died March 16, 2019. Age 80 yrs.

Norma was a graduate of Hughes High School and The University of Cincinnati College Conservatory and enjoyed a lifetime in theater, both professionally and as her hobby. After retirement from The Playhouse in the Park she remained highly active in community theater for many years. She was an avid reader and next to her family, enjoyed her traveling more than anything.

In deference to her wishes a private service for the family will be followed by a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital or Autism Speaks. T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home serving the family.
