La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, Ohio, is holding auditions for its upcoming production, THE KING AND I on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 9:00 A.M., at 765 W. Central Ave., Springboro, Ohio.
SEEKING:
9am Children:
- LOUIS: Boy with unchanged voice, 11-13 Anna’s son
- PRINCE CHULALONGKORN: 14-17, King’s son and heir to the throne
- ENSEMBLE: Boys & Girls ages 7-17
10am Adults:
- KING OF SIAM: Baritone, 25-40. Strong, powerful leader, domineering yet endearing.
- LUN THA: Tenor, 18-25. Handsome, courageous but powerless to the King.
- ANNA: Soprano, 20-35. Strong, no-nonsense schoolteacher, considers herself equal to men.
- LADY THIANG: Soprano, 25-40. First Wife of the King, loyal and loving
- TUPTIM: Soprano, 18-25. Young beautiful girl, a present to the King, pretty but fiercely determined.
- Seeking an ensemble that sings and moves well. Additional roles will be cast from ensemble.
All adults and children should prepare 16 bars of music.
