Auditions for THE WIZARD OF OZ at Stage Right Musical Theatre Company

SRMTC_logoJoin us this summer as we tell the Royal Shakespeare Company’s version of the hit classical film, THE WIZARD OF OZ.

  • Dates of employment are June 23-July 30
  • Tentative show dates are July 14-July 30

Salaries will differ depending on role. Limited housing available upon request

Audition dates:

  • March 12 from 3-6pm
    Morehead State University (Little Theatre)

  • March 17 from 6-9pm
    Northern Kentucky University (FA 117)

  • March 19 from 2-5pm
    Main Street Gardens

Auditions Should Include:

  • Headshot\Resume
  • 2 Contrasting songs
  • 1 minute monologue

A stage musical based on the children’s novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. The story centers on Matilda, a precocious 5-year-old girl with the gift of telekinesis who loves reading, overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school, and helps her teacher to reclaim her life.

Two angry young men sit behind a Vermont coffee shop and discuss music and Bukowski. When a lonely high-school student arrives on the scene, they decide to teach him everything they know. From the Pulitzer Prize-winning writer of Circle Mirror Transformation and The Flick, THE ALIENS is a play with music about friendship, art, love and death.

Washed up on the shores of West Africa, an infant boy is taken in and raised by gorillas who name him Tarzan. Tarzan’s life is mostly monkey business until a human expedition treks into his troop’s territory and he encounters creatures like himself for the first time. Tarzan struggles to navigate a jungle, thick with emotion as he discovers his animal upbringing clashing with his human instincts.

Oscar Wilde’s classic is a delight from the first cucumber sandwich on as Jack’s double life catches up with him. The problems are resolved in an extremely charming and quite unexpected way as Jack and Algernon discover the importance of being earnest while answering to the name of Ernest.
