During World War II, Joe Keller and his business partner were accused of knowingly shipping damaged airplane parts that led to the deaths of twenty-one servicemen. While only his business partner, Steve Deever, was convicted of the crime, Keller was guilty as well. When both the Keller family and the Deever family find out the truth, it damages even further the relationships among the children of both families, resulting in the Keller son’s confrontation of his father. This play received the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play.

SUMMER MOCKBUSTER Sketch Comedy Show on June 16

TCO_Summer Mockbuster.jpg

Yes, summer brings with it heat, humidity, Reds Baseball, and — in a cruel joke from Mother Nature — cicadas four years early. But it also brings with it explosions, giant robots, superheroes, and mutant animal hybrids.

On the big screen, that is.

On Friday, June 16th, The Company will celebrate the tradition of summer blockbusters. A tradition that started with a giant shark named Bruce, and will continue until like … Transformers 27 or something. SUMMER MOCKBUSTER is an all-original live sketch comedy show, featuring new sketches written by The Company members, along with some classic movie-themed favorites from our archives.

We will be performing at the wonderful Lindner Event Center at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center Annex (6620 Montgomery Rd., at the corner of Montgomery and Kennedy). Doors open at 7:30, and the show starts at 8. Tickets are only $10, and feel free to BYOB (but there will be some treats and things for purchase).
Tickets are available at the door for CASH ONLY, or on our website (www.thecompanypresents.com) with credit card or Paypal. So get your tickets now, and come ready to laugh with The Company. We’re gonna make it a thing.

(Please note that the show will feature adult humor and will not be suitable for children or anyone that might be offended by crude jokes and profanity.)

Directed by Colin Cronin

Featuring:

  • Brandon Dunphy
  • Jonathan Eckman
  • Chris Lannan
  • Colleen McElroy
  • Stephanie Mooney
  • Lora “Lolo” Pateras
  • Mike Pateras

Auditions Announced for THE CURIOUS SAVAGE at Mason Community Players

MCP_logoAuditions for THE CURIOUS SAVAGE will be held at Theatre 42, 2752 S Route 42, Lebanon, OH 45036, on Thursday, June 22nd from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and again on Sunday, June 25th also from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

Expect cold readings from the script.

THE CURIOUS SAVAGE, written by John Patrick, is a comedic play about Ethel P. Savage, an elderly woman whose husband recently died and left her approximately ten million dollars. Contrasting the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the avarice and vanity of “respectable” public figures, it calls into question conventional definitions of sanity while lampooning celebrity culture.

THE CURIOUS SAVAGE will be presented October 6, 7, 8, 12, 13 & 14 at Theatre 42. For a list of characters and a description of each, click on this link!

For additional information please contact the director, Gail Rudolph at grudolph@gmail.com.
