FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Runs March 3-May 1

LAC_Fiddler on the Roof logoFIDDLER ON THE ROOF
La Comedia Dinner Theatre
March 3-May 1
Springboro

Based on Sholom Aleichem’s Tevye and his Daughters, Fiddler on the Roof is the beloved story of the small, tradition-steeped town of Anatevka, Russia, where Jews and Russians live in delicate balance. During the course of the show, the time honored traditions of Anatevka are both embraced and challenged by Tevye and his colorful community, as they witness his daughters, Tzeitel, Hodel and Chava, grow up and fall in love in a time of extraordinary change. Fiddler on the Roof’s Broadway premier became the longest-running Broadway musical in history, a title it maintained for almost ten years. It is a story that captures the essential human longings for love, community, success, freedom, family, and meaning. Fiddler features such iconic songs as the beautiful “Sunrise, Sunset,” the boisterous “If I Were a Rich Man”, and the classic “Matchmaker, Matchmaker.”

AMERICAN IDIOT
UC College-Conservatory of Music
March 3-13
Patricia Corbett Theater [University Heights]

Directed by Aubrey Berg
Music Directed by Steve Goers
Choreographed by Samantha Pollinno

Cast: Ben Biggers as Johnny, John Battagliese as St. Jimmy, Clara Cox as Whatsername, Chris Collins-Pisano as Will, Shauna Topian as Heather, Louis Griffin as Tunny & Cameron Anika Hill as Extraordinary Girl
Ensemble: Kyra Christopher, EJ Dohring, Joel Flynn, Ciara Alyse Harris, Marissa Hecker, Tyler Jent, Phillip Johnson, Chris Kelley, Stavros Koumbaros, Jackson Matteck, Emily Ashton Meredith, Hamilton Moore, Anya Olsen, Alex Stone, Donelvan Thigpen, Madelaine Vandenberg and Keaton Whittaker.

The two-time Tony Award-winning hit musical American Idiot, based on Green Day’s Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum album of the same name, boldly takes the American musical where it’s never gone before. Johnny, Tunny and Will struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When the three disgruntled men flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths diverge when Tunny enters the armed forces, Michael is called back home to attend familial responsibilities, and Johnny’s attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship. An energy-fueled rock opera, American Idiot features minimal dialogue and instead relies on the lyrics from Green Day’s groundbreaking album to execute the story line.

This production contains mature subject matter, including references to drug use, sexual content and profanity.
