THE REALISTIC JONESES
Clifton Performance Theatre
Jan. 21-Feb. 6
Clifton

Directed by Dale Hodges

Cast: Carter Bratton, Mindy Siebert, Miranda McGee & Phil Fiorini

Will Eno’s The Realistic Joneses is a show that is droll, dry and otherworldly, and, at the same time, all too human. Bob and Jennifer are spending their days managing an illness that’s manifesting itself in more and more insideous ways when Pony and John move in down the street. The couples connect in ways that are both healing and damaging, and the four of them have more in common than any of them first realized.

Actors Needed for A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE at Women in Theatre (WIT)

MISC_Auditions2We have some juicy roles for men available.  What man doesn’t want to play the romantic role of “Mitch”?  What well-built, muscle bound guy doesn’t want to play the part of Pablo which includes some stage combat?  What young, slight man doesn’t want  this magical role that beams with white light?

Auditions for three remaining male roles in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE produced by WIT-Women in Theatre will take place on February 6 from 1:00-3:00pm.  Bring a headshot and a resume.  No monologues, just reading with other actors.

Roles:

  • Harold Mitchell “Mitch” is socially awkward and Blanche’s love interest.
  • Pablo is just one of the card playin’, bowlin’ guys (won’t require a lot of rehearsal).
  • The Young Collector is young, slightly built, and naïve.  Looks like he’s 16-21 years old.

Actors Wanted to be Trained as Simulated Patients

MISC_Conversations of a Lifetime logoConversations of a Lifetime™ is currently recruiting actors who are interested in being trained as a simulated patient.

As a simulated patient actor, you will be a learning tool to provide the opportunity for a health care learner to practice communication skills in a very supportive environment, guided by a facilitator. Through the Conversations of a Lifetime™ project, Hospice of Cincinnati provides physicians with coaching sessions to help improve communication skills for initiating meaningful end of life conversations. (Sessions are for communication skill building only, no physical exams are done.) These 4-hour sessions are offered several times a year during the day in a small group, experiential learning format.

We are recruiting for the following roles:

  • Bill Fogarty: 60-75 years old male, recently retired from high stress job; two adult children live out of town. Likes to plan ahead, be in charge and control. Led an unhealthy lifestyle for most of his life, but made some drastic changes after having four heart attacks in his 60s.

**We are also recruiting an understudy for each role**

Key qualities we are looking for:

  • Able to show emotion
  • Be “in the moment”
  • Focused improv skills

Pay rate: $25/hr with a four hour minimum.

Other requirements:

  • Reliable
  • Available to attend a one-day paid training session
