In mid-century America, newspaper columnists are kings — and Joseph Alsop wears the biggest crown. Joe sits at the nexus of Washington life: beloved, feared, and courted in equal measure by the very people whose careers he determines. But as the sixties dawn and America undergoes dizzying change, the intense political dramas Joe has been throwing his weight around in — supporting the war in Vietnam and Soviet containment, criticizing student activism — come to bear a profound personal cost.

THE K OF D follows the story of Charlotte McGraw, a 12-year-old girl coming to terms with the death of her twin brother, Jamie. Set on a man-made lake in southwest Ohio, the legend is that Charlotte kissed her dying brother on the lips and now everything she kisses from that moment forward also dies. THE K OF D upon the discovery of her new “skill” and tracks the events that transpire. The K of D is a one-woman show featuring 17 characters including Charlotte, her mother, her father, her new-found neighbor, and the pack of rag-tag kids who speculate on much of Charlotte’s story. This play has the feel of a campfire ghost story, and purposefully blurs the line between fact and fiction.

Directors Sought for 2016-2017 Season at Cincinnati Music Theatre

CMTCincinnati Music Theatre is now accepting applications for Directors for our 2016-2017 season!

CMT is proud of its long history of presenting popular, large scale, award-winning musicals to enthusiastic audiences from across the Greater Cincinnati area.

We will produce two shows in the 2016/17 season – one in November 2016 and the other in May 2017.

Potential directors are asked to send in a resume as well as a write-up on all shows they are submitting.
