GODSPELL at Thompson House CANCELLED

TH_GodspellI have just been informed (indirectly) that the upcoming production of GODSPELL has been cancelled.

Personally. I am very disappointed and I apologize for anyone’s time that was wasted.

All questions should be directed by Kirt Lee at Thompson House.

Leave the kids at home and get ready for some ridiculous, riotous and downright raunchy puppet behavior in this 2004 triple Tony Award® winner. Come sing along with Princeton, a fresh-faced college grad, and all his wacky new neighbors living way, way, way out on New York City’s Avenue Q. The life lessons come fast and funny as he learns that “It Sucks to Be Me,” “The Internet Is for Porn” and “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist.” Presented in collaboration with the puppet masters at The Zoot Theatre Company, it’s laugh-out-loud musical mayhem that’s not for the little ones or the faint of heart.

BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS Runs June 6-16

FLI_Brighton BeachBRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS
Presented by Footlighters Inc.
June 6-16
Newport

Directed by Jerry Wiesenhahn

Cast: Noah Lentini as Eugene Jerome, Joel Lind as Jack Jerome, Cathy Ross as Kate Jerome, Blake Gehring as Stanley Jerome, Mary Ann Smith as Blanche Morton, Morgan Carter Woodring as Nora Morton & Melody Lindsey as Laurie Morton

Neil Simon, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, is widely regarded as one of America’s funniest stage authors. Brighton Beach Memoirs, a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story, has been called “his funniest, richest and consequently the most affecting of his plays” by the New York Daily News. It’s 1937 and 15-year old Eugene Morris Jerome lives with his family in a crowded, lower middle-class Brooklyn walk-up. Dreaming of baseball and girls, Eugene must cope with the mundane existence of his family life in Brooklyn: formidable mother, overworked father, and his worldly older brother Stanley. Throw into the mix his widowed Aunt Blanche and her two young (but rapidly developing) daughters and you have a recipe for hilarity, served up Simon-style.

Local media coverage: Enquirer article |

Directed by Sandra Forman

This musical phenomenon is back in full force this summer! Down on their luck, the Little Sisters of Hoboken set out to raise money to set things right. Once it’s agreed that the best way to raise the necessary funds is to put on a variety show, the nuns get to the task of putting together the show. As the acts and egos grow more out of control, hilarity ensues. The Sister’s are sure success is assured with a Guiding Hand to help lead the way. Let’s just hope the variety show can survive the all the backstage hijinks! Includes dinner.

Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and dozens of other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand…and his name is Shrek. SHREK is part romance, part twisted fairly take and all irreverent fun for everyone!
