TDW Seeks Director for BAREFOOT IN THE PARK

The Board of the The Drama Workshop is conducting additional interviews to find a replacement director for BAREFOOT IN THE PARK.

If you are interested in directing BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, we ask for the following:

  • 15 – 20 minute presentation of your vision for Barefoot in the Park
  • Your calendar for 2013 (for audition andrehearsal dates/times)
  • Any additional thoughts that you would have including (but not limited to) your audition and rehearsal processes and any tech people who may be interested in helping you in this production.

Show dates April 26, 27, 28 May 3,4,5,10,11,12.

No auditions have been set

Our previous show DOUBT runs from March 8 – 24. Rehearsal time will limited during this time and the weeks immediately preceding.

Auditions, read-through, rehearsals and production will take place at The Glenmore Playhouse 3716 Glenmore Ave., Cheviot, Ohio 45211.

As with their earlier revue, each song in CLOSER THAN EVER is a story: an intimate, insightful tale about couples and unrequited love. Included are several songs that were cut from the acclaimed BABY. Love, security, happiness-and holding onto them in a world that pulls you in a hundred directions at once. Maltby and Shire bring their celebrated craft and contemporary sensibility to songs about aging, mid-life crisis, second marriages, and role reversals.

A fast-paced, interactive mystery where audience members have a chance to solve the crime.

Tonight is the finals of the Harmon E. Sellers Opera Star Competition. Since all of the finalists happen to work at Maggiano’s, the organizers have decided to hold the finals at the restaurant. Tonight’s winner will appear in the chorus of an upcoming opera production. The judging panel is led by world-famous opera star Lotta D. Von Noyes, who is famous for activities other than her singing. A lotta people don’t like Lotta and many of them are here tonight. But who has the most reason to want Lotta out of the way? Ex-husband Sabado Domingo? Arch-rival Barbara Saville? Event sponsor Harmon E. Sellers? Accompanist Anne R. Peggio? Lotta’s personal assistant? Her understudy? Someone is guilty of a crime!

Ohio Playwrights Circle New Play Readings on Aug. 29

The Ohio Playwrights Circle is hosting an evening of New Play Readings on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 6pm.

Admission is free and the readings of the 10 minute plays will take place at the educational facilities of The Human Race Theatre Company;

This series of 10-minute plays are written by Ohio playwrights that are part of the Playwrighting class sponsored by the Ohio Playwrights Circle. Local actors and directors are joining in to bring the new plays to life.
