THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE is a chilling and mystifying study in mounting terror in which a small group of “psychically receptive” people are brought together in Hill House, a brooding, mid-Victorian mansion known as a place of evil and “contained ill will.” Led by the learned Dr. Montague, who is conducting research in supernatural phenomena, the visitors have come to probe the secrets of the old house and to draw forth the mysterious powers that it is alleged to possess—powers which have brought madness and death to those who have lived therein in the past.

The play deals with state testing, No Child Left Behind, funding, curriculum, parents, administrators and of course students through the eyes of Virginia Budge, an ageing, meddlesome retired teacher. Join Ms. Budge on her journey through a basement of memories as she begrudgingly packs her prized teaching paraphernalia, laughter exploding as she fills each box. This is a Budge Workshop Production. All proceeds will go to the Virginia Budge Award fund.

This production contains some mild profanity and adult situations. The directing approximates its rating as ~PG13.

The classic Mel Brooks movie is ALIVE…and it’s heading to Dayton! This wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that’s Fronkensteen) as he attempts to create a monster–but not without scary and hilarious complications. The brain behind the laughter is mad genius and three-time Tony® winner Mel Brooks himself–who wrote the music and lyrics and co-wrote the book along with his record-breaking, award -winning team from THE PRODUCERS.
