Stories Needed for trueFOOD

TRUE_logoTrue Theatre is looking for stories for their January 11th show, trueFOOD.

This Saturday, True Theatre is holding the first round of meetings to find stories for their next show. If you have some time this-coming Saturday, December 5th (or even if you don’t), write us at stories@truetheatre.com so we can make arrangements to talk to you!

VOICESCAPES: A Storytelling Festival on Oct. 3

MISC_VoiceScapes logoTrue Theatre, Tri-Health, The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, the Cincinnati Recreation Commission, and Clifton Town Meeting have partnered for VOICESCAPES: A Storytelling Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3 on the lawn of the new location of the Clifton Branch of the Cincinnati Public Library, 3400 Brookline Avenue.

At 1pm & 3pm, children ages 5-10 will be entertained by April Eight.

At 7pm, three local storytellers from past TrueTheatre events will be revising/reprising their stories for a family-friendly, family-themed good time.

At 8pm, nationally-known storytellers Tommy Nugent and Irene Evens will be sharing their family-friendly/family-themed stories.

All performances are free.

In the event of rain, the event moves to E.T. Carson Masonic Lodge Auditorium at 218 Ludlow Ave.

trueTHEATRE Announces Season Six

TRUE_Seaon 6The mission of trueTheatre is to bring together a wide variety of people to share stories in an effort to create community, encourage discussion, and remind everyone that ALL of us have stories to tell with unique insights and broad appeal. Though storytelling can take on many forms, True Theatre realizes that what great stories have in common are their power to hold attention, slow time, and capture the imagination. They may redden cheeks, make eyes water, and elicit eruptions of laughter. They take you somewhere.

Although great storytelling is not limited to true, personal stories, True Theatre believes that these real moments of our lives, from the mundane to the extraordinary, give both the speaker AND the listener the ultimate sense of being part of a larger community than they were aware.
