OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS

Auditions will take place at the TCP Playhouse on Friday, November 16 at 5pm and Saturday, November 17 at 11am. Please come to one of the listed time slots if you would like to audition for a role in this show.

If necessary, callbacks will be held Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM.

Auditions consist of reading lines from the script I have provided. Familiarity with the lines is recommended, but memorization is not required.

If there are any conflicts with the times of the auditions or if you have any questions, please contact the director, Amanda Gault, via email (agault@decaturco.k12.in.us).

Be prepared for your audition. Do some research and study the characters. Youtube is a great source! You may also preview the script by contacting the director.

You must have an audition form filled out and given to the director at the start of the audition.

The success of a show depends on the full commitment of all involved. If you are auditioning, please be ready to make rehearsals a priority.

Rehearsals will begin with a read through of the script on Monday, November 19. We will most likely meet 3-4 times a week at the TCP playhouse for rehearsals. Once we have the cast in place, we will work out a schedule.

Over the River and Through the Woods will be performed at the TCP Playhouse on January 18 and 1 9 at 7:00 PM, and January 20 at 2:00 PM.

Tree County Players, Greensburg, IN, announces auditions for Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s MARY POPPINS, a musical based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the Walt Disney film.

Audition dates are: April 21 from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm, April 22 from 9:00 am – noon, and April 23 from 1 pm – 3 pm. Auditions will take place at the Tree County Players Office (327 S. Monfort St., Greensburg, IN).

MARY POPPINS is a big show with lots of colorful characters. Many acting, singing and dancing cast members (teen and older) will be needed. There are two major roles for children who can convincingly portray Jane Banks, age 11 and Michael Banks, age 9. A few “ensemble type” children’s roles may also be available

Auditioners will be expected to sing, dance, speak in dialect, present a memorized monologue, complete an audition form (including rehearsal conflicts), and react to questions/requests from the casting group. More audition information is available on the TCP web site (tcpgreensburg.com). Preparation is required. Auditions are by appointment only. Call the director (812-528-5289) for an appointment. Additional dance auditions will be held on April 23 at 3:00 pm at the TCP Office. Dancers and persons auditioning for roles which require dancing (see audition package) must attend dance auditions.

MARY POPPINS, original music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Roger B. Sherman, book by Julian Fellows, new songs and additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drew, co-created by Cameron Mackintosh, is directed by Therese Zins, with vocal direction by Cathy Lincourt. Lydia Woodward is serving as choreographer, and Jenny Zins is assistant director.

The magical show will be presented on June 22, 23 and 24. Thursday and Friday performances’ curtain time is 7 pm. Saturday’s performance begins at 2 pm. All shows take place at Greensburg Junior High School. Tickets, which will be on sale beginning May 1, are $5 for patrons age 18 and under, $12 for Tree County Players’ members, and $15 for non-members. Backstage help (set construction and decoration, props, make-up, lights, stage crew, sound, house, publicity, etc.) is also sought. There will NOT be an orchestra for this production.
