Auditions Announed for 2022-2023 Season at TheatreLab Dayton

TLD_logoTheatreLab Dayton is excited to announce our 2022-2023 season auditions.

Auditions will take place on July 11-13th from 7-9pm. Please prepare two contrasting songs, each no longer than 1 minute. An accompanist will be provided, as well as a speaker. No acapella auditions accepted. Video submissions are also accepted and can be sent to auditions@theatrelabdayton.org. All roles are paid contract positions.

These auditions will cover the following shows:

Auditions for each show will take place closer to their beginning rehearsal dates. (Please note SWEENEY TODD callbacks WILL take place July 17th 2022)

Actors of all races, ethnicities, gender identities and abilities are encouraged to audition.

Auditions Announced for LA CAGE AUX FOLLES at TheatreLab Dayton

TLD_logoAuditions will take place on May 23-24th from 7-8pm and callbacks will happen directly following auditions.

Location: 116 N Jefferson Street, Dayton Ohio.

Video auditions will be accepted until May 22

Please prepare 1 song in the style of the show (32 bars/about a minute)

SHOW DATES: September 8-10th 2022

Rehearsals begin August 1st (Mon-Thu 7-10pm)

    George and Albin’s butler/maid; brilliant comedian who sings and moves well
  • ANNE: Female, 18-21 (Range: Ensemble, Part Flexible)
    Jean-Michel’s fiancee; spunky; moves and acts well
  • EDOUARD DINDON: Male, Early 50’s (Range:Bb2-Eb4)
    Anne’s father; right-wing radical politician; pompous; quirky; must sing, move well, and be a fine comedian
  • MARIE DINDON: Female, Late 40’s (Range: F4-A5)
    Anne’s mother; 48-52, shy, retiring, sexually repressed and sex-starved; good singer and actress who moves well
  • JACQUELINE: Female, Middle Age (Range: B3-F5)
    Mature, female friend of Georges and Albin; owns a chic restaurant; charming; very theatrical; not necessarily a singer
  • RENAUD: Male, Middle Age (Range: Ensemble, Part Flexible)
    Mature, friend of Georges and Albin; owns a small cafe; understudies both of the 2 leads

Welcome to the Renaissance and the outrageous, crowd-pleasing musical farce, Something Rotten! Two brothers set out to write the world’s first musical in this hilarious mash-up of sixteenth-century Shakespeare and twenty-first-century Broadway. SOMETHING ROTTEN features large song and dance numbers, and a wacky cast of over-the-top characters, each given his or her own special moment in the show to shine. It was lauded by audience members and critics alike, receiving several Best Musical nominations and hailed by Time Out New York as “the funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years”.
