INSPECTING CAROL deals with a regional theatre company that is rehearsing its annual production of A Christmas Carol, when it gets news of the impending arrival of an inspector from the National Endowment for the Arts to review their work. When they assume that the man who asks to audition is really an informer for the NEA, everyone caters to the bewildered wannabe actor and he is given a role. What will happen when the actual inspector shows up? Come see this laugh-a-minute romp!

Cast Announced for THE STING at The Drama Workshop

TDW_VERTThe Drama Workshop and director, Fred Hunt are pleased to announce the cast of THE STING.  This production will run May 4-20, 2018.

Based on the 1973 film, THE STING comes to the Glenmore Playhouse stage!  The strains of jazz, swing and stride spill from every bar and fill the airwaves of Chicago. It’s 1936 and confidence trickster Johnny Hooker is set on revenge for the murder of his friend by powerful and dangerous mobster, Doyle Lonnegan.  Teaming up with the greatest con artist of them all, Henry Gondorff, together they plot to pull off The Sting, an outrageous and elaborate con trick designed to rob Lonnegan of his fortune.

TDW Presents INSPECTING CAROL

Get your holiday cheer on with this hilarious, madcap comedy! Behind the scenes of a struggling theatre’s annual slapdash production of A Christmas Carol, rehearsals are at a standstill. Tim is no longer Tiny, Scrooge wants to do the play in Spanish (Feliz Navidad), and their funding is on hold pending an inspection. This laugh out loud spoof makes for a night at the theatre that is anything but show business as usual.  Contains mild profanity.

The show runs from December 1 through December 17, with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm, and Sunday afternoons at 2 pm. Because of anticipated demand, there also is an extra performance on Thursday, Dec 14, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $18 if purchased in advance, $20 the day of the show. The Drama Workshop performs at The Glenmore Playhouse, 3716 Glenmore Ave in Cheviot.

Cast Announced for THE GIRLS OF MILLER COURT at The Drama Workshop

TDW_VERTThe Drama Workshop (TDW) is pleased to announce the cast of THE GIRLS OF MILLER COURT, our winter production. This is an original play written by Jack Williams, directed by jef brown and produced by Valeria Amburgey.

In 1883 London, Jack the Ripper has started his deadly spree. Prostitutes Mary Kelly, Polly Nichols, Liz Stride, Kate Eddowes, and Annie Chapman meet at the local tavern and hatch an audacious plan – to lay a trap for the killer and thereby save their own lives. Will they succeed in their plan to stop the Ripper’s rampage, or become victims themselves? A fresh new take on the Ripper tale, you’ll be sure to enjoy this fascinating tale by local playwright Jack Williams. Some adult situations.
