BABY MAMA tracks one birth mother’s true adoption journey, from conception to placement with the gay couple of her dreams–while still living her life, dating, and attending the occasional orgy. From adoption agencies to vaginal discharge, from burlesque to good-byes, this up-close-and-personal night of storytelling is everything about those ten months you ever wanted to know (and probably plenty that you didn’t). SHIT MEN HAVE SAID OR: HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE PATRIACHY Coming to Cincy Fringe

Satirically re-examining and re-imaging gender roles in western society

CFF_Shit Men Have Said logoMAY 26, 2016—Tristate audiences are invited into the P.A.T.R.I.A.R.C.H.Y. itself during ReVamp Collective’s production of SHIT MEN HAVE SAID OR: HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE PATRIACHY. This show, which is part of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, runs from June 1st– June 8th at the OTR Community Church.

“‘You’re too pretty to cry’, ‘smile for me’, ‘grow some balls,’ ‘not very lady-like.’ This is the stuff people say to each other! The purpose? To put us into boxes established by the patriarchy of western society. We believe it’s time to tell them all to screw off. Join us.” – ReVamp Collective

This audience-interactive piece was conceived by ReVamp Collective, written by Kristen Scatton and directed by Carly Bodnar.

There will be five performances during the Cincinnati Fringe Festival: June 1st at 8:30PM, June 4th at 8:15PM, June 5th at 6:45PM, June 6th at 8:55PM, and June 8th at 8:55PM.

All performances run 65min and will take place at the Over-the-Rhine Community Church located at 1310 Race St, Cincinnati Ohio 45202.

Additional Show Information:

SHIT MEN HAVE SAID OR: HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE PATRIACHY is a devised satirical production that invites the audience into a dystopian society where each person is required to attend re-training sessions at the People’s Association of Testing, Research, and Innovation for Achieving Rigorous Control of Humanity. This organization is committed to developing standards to maintain a well-ordered society, and training individuals to understand and fulfill these expectations. Each ‘test subject’ will be part of the conversation through moments of audience participation before, during and after the performance.

However, not everyone in this society is as accepting of the P.A.T.R.I.A.R.C.H.Y’S mission. During the session, we meet those working for an underground organization, Humanity Uniting for More Acceptance Now. It is through these interactions that we uncover classified evidence showing that some people are currently working against the expectations of the P.A.T.R.I.A.R.C.H.Y. and even possible reality alternatives to their current society.

Welcome to the system. (After all, we must enter the system to dismantle it…)”
