Script Writing Class at Ohio Playwrights Circle Begins Sept. 14

Do you have a great story? Do you think it would make a great play? Hear actors bring your writing to life each week in a class offered by The Ohio Playwrighters Circle running Saturdays at 10am from Sept. 14-Nov. 3.

Michael M. London, who’s plays have been produced in the United States, Canada and the UK, will guide you through the process with weekly assignments and instruction, culminating in a public reading of your writing onstage at the Dayton Theatre Guild. No prior experience necessary, just a desire to tell your story. Space is limited.

OPC is a project of the American ArtWorks Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) not for profit corporation. OPC is hosted in Dayton by the Human Race Theatre Company & The Dayton Theatre Guild.

Michael M. London is an Ohio playwright who has worked with the artist-in-residence program at the Ohio Arts Council since 1986. His plays have been performed in the US, UK and Canada. He has taught workshops and seminars on playwrighting over many years. Recently, he was a Guest Professor in Playwrighting at Otterbein University. Michael is a lifetime member of the Dramatists Guild.

Ohio Playwrights Circle New Play Readings on Aug. 29

The Ohio Playwrights Circle is hosting an evening of New Play Readings on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 6pm.

Admission is free and the readings of the 10 minute plays will take place at the educational facilities of The Human Race Theatre Company;
Caryl D. Philips Creativity Center

Dayton, Ohio 45402

This series of 10-minute plays are written by Ohio playwrights that are part of the Playwrighting class sponsored by the Ohio Playwrights Circle. Local actors and directors are joining in to bring the new plays to life.

This activity is sponsored by the Ohio Playwrights Circle, (a project of the American ArtWorks Foundation), is hosted by The Human Race Theatre Company, and made possible by the Marsha Hanna Fund for the Development of New Plays.
