Auditions Announced for SNOW. APPLES. at InBocca Performance

IBP_Snow Apples logo

Hey, folks! While we WILL still have auditions tomorrow, we will be eliminating the movement portion of auditions, as we want to keep people from touching each other. This means we will only be performing cold readings and doing some mild devising. So please be prepared to be picked up (or to pick up your child) at approx. 11:30am unless you intend to audition for dance! Thank you!

In an effort to practice a healthy audition environment, we will be sanitizing the space, ourselves, and doing dance auditions in small groups. Thank you for your patience!

Announcing auditions for our summer production, SNOW. APPLES.

This production is unlike anything anyone is offering in the Greater Cincinnati Area for kids in theatre this summer! Working with InBocca, your child will create an original devised theatrical production containing original music, dance, and writing. This means that our kids write their theatre themselves over the course of a month–and this isn’t ‘children’s theatre,’ but amazing, bleeding edge theatre made by kids but polished and presented to all audiences.

This summer, we are exploring the fairy tale of Snow White:

“Once upon a time in midwinter, when the snowflakes were falling like feathers from heaven, a queen sat sewing at her window, which had a frame of black ebony wood. As she sewed she looked up at the snow and pricked her finger with her needle. Three drops of blood fell into the snow. The red on the white looked so beautiful that she thought to herself, ‘If only I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood in this frame.’ Soon afterward she had a little daughter who was as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as ebony wood, and therefore they called her Little Snow-White.”

A Queen. A Girl. An apple. This is the story we know, but it’s not the story you’ll see. Join us this summer and turn the familiar tale on its head–and find that a walk through the forest is perhaps darker and more frightening than ever.

When: March 14th

Time: 10:30am-1:30pm.

Cold readings and movement at 10:30, Dance auditions begining at 11:30am. Dance is optional.

Where: TBA

Prepare: Nothing. Actors will be asked to do cold readings and movement. Please come dressed for movement. Dancers please come ready to dance.
