IndieGoGo Campaign to Bring ‘Kids In Difficult Situations’ to Local Schools

Honest to Goodness Productions, Inc. children’s ensemble called “K.I.D.S.” (Kids In Difficult Situations) entertains in elementary schools in a live show which helps children (grades 2 through 5) to cope with and understand what they must do to get help for problems like bullying, cyber bullying, abuse, temptation to take drugs to “fit in,” guns in school, why kids should never start to smoke, and more. After each skit or monologue, the little actors freeze and another ensemble member comes forward and talks to the audience about the problem and offers phone numbers, agency names, and national websites where a child can get help without being afraid of retribution from the source of the problem!

The elementary schools today are in a “Difficult Situation” of their own as funds for caring and helpful live shows like “K.I.D.S.” have been drastically reduced in many areas.

To help bring this show to schools at an affordable reduced price, Honest to Goodness Productions, Inc., has signed up with INDIEGOGO, which is a crowd funding organization. Our goal is $30,000. We arrived at this amount because several video HD professional companies have suggested this as a realistic price to shoot, edit, and produce the various skits, monologues, songs, raps on CDs or other network media that the elementary schools could purchase for less than one-third the price!

As an added benefit to classrooms and assemblies, at the end of each scene that depicts the problem, we have added graphics to help teachers, organization leaders and parents to stimulate discussions among the children about the problem. Graphics will feature questions like: “What would you do if you saw a friend being bullied?” “Would you try to tell a teacher or a trusted adult what was happening?” “What is a good way to discourage bullies from bothering you?” “Could you always walk with a friend so you are not alone when you leave the classroom?”

“If you were on the playground and a stranger came up to you and offered you some pills that would ‘make you smart’, or ‘make you prettier,” or make you ‘win in soccer’ what would you do?” “Would you run away from the stranger?” “Would you tell a trusted adult who was nearby?”

COULD YOU HELP US RAISE THE FUNDS TO KEEP THESE MUCH NEEDED PRESENTATIONS AVAILABLE TO THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ACROSS OUR NATION? ANY AMOUNT WOULD BE APPRECIATED AND PUT TO GOOD USE. THERE IS NO “TOO SMALL” AMOUNT! TO HELP US, GO TO www.indiegogo.com and put in CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN THROUGH PERFORMANCE! COPING WITH BULLIES, ABUSE, MORE! ON OUR WEBSITE, www.kidshtog.org you can also donate through Pay Pal!!

AS “K.I.D.S.” SAYS AFTER EACH PRESENTATION: “REMEMBER, YOU MAY JUST BE A KID, BUT YOU HAVE RIGHTS, TOO!” THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CARING!

HTG Productions Seeks Keyboard Players

MISC_keyboardHonest to Goodness Productions, Inc., is in need of a keyboard player to accompany the group called “THE GRANDKIDS” which is an ensemble group of children, ages 8 to 14, who entertain at retirement communities. Each show is 45 minutes long. The accompaniest would have to be at the recreation center or retirement facility 15 minutes before the show. The shows are usually in the early evening. There are five or six songs to play — all very simple — and sound effects to to put in at places in the skits or monologues as the children are performing. The person interested would not have to bring the keyboard. I have a keyboard with sound effects and it would be an easy thing to put down the numbers for each effect and go along with the scripts. The show is a lot of fun!

Right now, the group is new; we have a gig in July and more will come up as our marketing gathers some speed. We are going in for “short” money till the group garners some performances and gets popular; to start, we could afford to pay a keyboardist $50 per show.

My name is Sunny Monnig, President of Honest to Goodness Productions, Inc., a 501(C)(3) charity corporation. We also have the group called “K.I.D.S.” which stands for “Kids In Difficult Situations,” that entertains in elementary schools in the Greater Cincinnati area.
