EdTA, in collaboration with New York City-based companies iTheatrics and Music Theatre International (MTI), has created JumpStart Theatre, a three-year scalable pilot program designed to bring musical theatre into schools that currently do not have performing arts programs. JumpStart is modeled after the successful Broadway Junior Musical Theatre Program founded by the Shubert Foundation, iTheatrics and MTI in 2005 in collaboration with the New York City Department of Education.
Summary

The Program Mentor will coach and train teachers from (up to) three Cincinnati-area schools in all aspects of their preparation to produce a musical production with their students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • From September thru December:  Meet with teachers from up to three Cincinnati-area schools 1-2 times per month to check in on progress, assist with audition workshops, or provide guidance leading up to their auditions.
  • From January thru March:  Visit each school once each week for approximately 2 hours at a time during their rehearsals. Observe, offer guidance and support to teachers, as needed, on topics including directing, acting, blocking, time management, lighting, sound, costumes, props, etc.
  • Provide consistent, accurate, and timely communication.
  • On a weekly basis, provide detailed, written reports, with simple photo/video support, including program strengths and weaknesses for each school. Reports will be submitted electronically.
  • Attend and support 3 daylong boot camps each school year (9:00am-4:00pm on September 30, 2016, January 27, 2017, and March 10, 2017).
  • Attend at least one performance at each school (March 2017).
  • Assist with 2-3 rehearsals at each school in the month of April (2017) to prepare for the Showcase, polishing 1-2 songs from each school’s selected show.
  • Attend JumpStart Showcase on May 2, 2017; serve as support staff, offering assistance as needed for backstage or front-of-house responsibilities.

Summary
Partners with the Director of Events and Education and the Education and Events team to plan and manage member focused events, such as the International Thespian Festival, Junior Thespian Festival, and the EdTA National Conference, by performing the following duties.  Additionally, supports the creation of professional development curriculum and materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops, prioritizes, and implements project plans, including educational workshop programs, teaching artist management, and student showcases and competitions.
  • Negotiates contracts and maintains relationships with teaching artists and preferred vendors.
  • Compiles estimated cost models, submits final budget, tracks budget statistics, and prepares management reports.
  • Assists in developing the logistics and execution plan for four major national events.
  • Negotiates group air and hotel contracts for event staffers and attendees to meet approved budget.
  • Sets up meeting and event schedules, organizes materials, reviews transportation itineraries, and books venues and services.
  • Assists in creation of internal and external promotional pieces.
  • Coordinates registration and payment procedures, promotional advertising and mailings, and corporate sponsorship activities.
  • Organizes required catering services and room and communication equipment setup.
  • Supports the management of on-site staffing and registration.
  • Determines appropriate responses to problems and emergencies.
  • Develops materials and manages a cohort of subject matter experts to grow the organizations catalogue of professional development offerings.
  • Provides project status updates.

JOB TITLE:  Administrative Support Specialist II

POSITION:  EdTA seeks an Administrative Support Specialist II to support the many administrative, programmatic, event planning, and reporting needs of the association.  In addition, the Administrative Support Specialist II will provide executive support for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

SKILLS DESIRED:  Must be able to team with others as well as work independently, with minimal supervision, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  The ideal candidate is detail oriented, a clear communicator, forward thinking, creative, and imaginative.  The ideal candidate has a customer first orientation. The ideal candidate should be execution-focused, able to roll up your sleeves and focus on the task at hand.  The ideal candidate has experience with database management and the ability to be flexible in working with different technologies.  Experience in the non-profit sector, theatre and/or education preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Support Specialist supports the Assistant Manager of Support Services in meeting the various administrative needs of several departments across the organization.  Success in the role requires the ability to build relationships with staff and volunteers, an affinity toward data management, research, and some amount of event planning and support.  The Support Specialist will be the lead on several projects that require great attention to detail.  The Support Specialist will provide executive support for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the production of reports to support organizational decision making.
  • Creates tools to increase the efficiency of staff and supports the ability to be more productive for our membership.
  • Participates in the execution of several key processes, such as event registration, scholarship application processing, and new business development.
  • Assists in the support of the association’s volunteer leaders, as needed.
  • Fulfills volunteer leader materials and information requests.
  • Provides executive support for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Coordinates activities of design, editorial, and production departments.

  • Confers with authors and editors regarding budget, background information, objectives, audience level, and style.

EdTA Seeks Order Fulfillment Clerk

JOB TITLE:  Order Fulfillment Clerk

POSITION:  EdTA seeks an Order Fulfillment Clerk to assist in the packaging and shipment of outbound retail inventory.

SKILLS DESIRED:  Successful candidate will have a high attention to detail, ability to count and pack physical materials, and the ability to perform highly repetitive tasks.

POSITION REPORTS TO:  Director of Membership

EDUCATION REQUIRED:  High school diploma or equivalent preferred

STATUS: Part-time Temporary, non-exempt

STARTING WAGE: $9.00 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Order Fulfillment Clerk will assist the Shipping Coordinator in the counting, organizing, packing and shipping of ITS merchandise and membership materials.  Hours are based on volume and may fluctuate from 10-40 hours per week.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs day-to-day order fulfillment within the Shipping/Receiving area.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be very detail oriented, high degree of accuracy is necessary
  • Must be able to properly pack up to 150 packages per day
  • Reaching, stretching, bending, lifting, and climbing are a daily part of this position.
  • Must be able to safely lift and stack 50-pound boxes
