GET THE LED OUT

October 17, 2014 • Aronoff Center

Tickets on sale Friday, August 8 at 10:00 AM

CINCINNATI, OH – Get The Led Out, the acclaimed Led Zeppelin tribute band, will rock the Aronoff Center’s Procter & Gamble Hall for one night only on Friday, October 17 at 8:00 PM.  The event is part of the Cincinnati Arts Associations 2014-15 Season.

Tickets are on sale now at  www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office.

From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the big concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six accomplished musicians intent on delivering Led Zeppelin’s studio recordings with all the bells and whistles. Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, Get The Led Out re-creates the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed live.

Dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin,” Get The Led Out presents a two-hour-plus set that spans the mythic career of the legendary British supergroup. With a strong focus on the early years, they also touch on the deeper cuts that were seldom, if ever, heard in concert.

Get The Led Out’s approach to their performance of this hallowed catalog is not unlike a classical performance. “Led Zeppelin are sort of the classical composers of the rock era,” says lead vocalist Paul Sinclair. “I believe 100 years from now they will be looked at as the Bach or Beethoven of our time. As cliché as it sounds, their music is timeless.”

A Get The Led Out concert mimics the “light and shade” that is the embodiment of “The Mighty Zep.” Whether it’s the passion and fury with which they deliver the blues-soaked, groove-driven rock anthems, or the delicate nature of their intimate, sit-down acoustic set (complete with a special guest female vocalist for “The Battle of Evermore”), it’s their attention to detail and nuance that makes a Get The Led Out performance a truly awe-inspiring event!

Paul Sinclair – Lead Vocals, Harmonica
Paul Hammond – Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Mandolin, Theremin
Jimmy Marchiano – Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Vocals
Billy Childs – Bass Guitar, Vocals
Andrew Lipke – Keyboards, Guitar, Vocals, Percussion
Adam Ferraioli – Drums, Percussion

Discover DaVinci and Michelangelo: Side By Side | Fri., Oct. 10 | Aronoff Center – Jarson-Kaplan Theater‏

CAA_DaVinci and MichelangeloARONOFF CENTER WELCOMES
DISCOVER DAVINCI AND MICHELANGELO: SIDE BY SIDE
PERFORMANCE EVENT

Cincinnati, OH – The original theater performance Discover DaVinci & Michelangelo: Side by Side will continue its inaugural North American Tour at the Aronoff Center’s intimate Jarson-Kaplan Theater on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 7:30 PM.

Ticket prices range between $40-$28 and are on sale Friday, June 27 at 10:00 AM at http://www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office, located at 650 Walnut Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. The performance runs approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, including one intermission.

Mark Rodgers, the creator and host of the multi-media performance, is also the curator of the DaVinci Machines and Michelangelo Exhibitions from the permanent Museum of Leonardo DaVinci in Florence, Italy, currently touring the United States and on display at the Bradenton Auditorium in Bradenton/Sarasota, FL. Rodgers originally developed the idea to compare and contrast the two geniuses while curating the DaVinci and Michelangelo Exhibition in Denver, CO.

“I realized you can’t talk about DaVinci without Michelangelo,” explained Rodgers. “Many people don’t know that they were not only contemporaries but also fierce competitors.”

The performance has evolved over the last couple of years, starting as a tour of only DaVinci. Then, over time, Rodgers incorporated Michelangelo into his tours when the Michelangelo Exhibition arrived from Florence. According to Rodgers, the more tours and presentations he gave, the more information people wanted to know about these two monumental geniuses.

“There has never been an exhibit or museum, of which I am aware, that has ever compared or contrasted DaVinci and Michelangelo in the same presentation,” explained Rodgers.

The multi-media event is a combination of host Rodgers and a presentation that includes movies, 3D-animations of machines and inventions, images of codices, artwork, paintings, and sculptures.

This original theater performance made its major theater debut at world-famous Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota, FL in April 2014.

“DaVinci and Michelangelo have an outreach and following that everyone can relate to,” explained Rodgers. “Everything they said and did relates to our lives today.”

About Discover DaVinci and Michelangelo: Side by Side
The “tour de force” performance Discover DaVinci & Michelangelo: Side by Side makes its Cincinnati debut at the Aronoff Center’s intimate Jarson-Kaplan Theater on October 10, 2014. Mark Rodgers, Curator of the DaVinci Machines and Michelangelo Exhibitions from the permanent Museum of Leonardo DaVinci in Florence, Italy, will take you on an awe-inspiring journey through the Italian Renaissance as seen through the eyes of these two monumental geniuses. This non-stop, multi-media, original theater performance features movies, videos, 3-D animations, and images of DaVinci and Michelangelo’s inventions, machines, sketches, codices, paintings, and sculptures. Rodgers compares and contrasts the incredible lives of Leonardo and Michelangelo as never before seen, while relating them to our world today. The challenge proposed is to draw inspiration from these two men and for everyone to discover their own “inner” DaVinci and Michelangelo. ALTON BROWN LIVE! | Sat., Nov. 1 | Aronoff Center‏

ALTON BROWN ANNOUNCES NEW US TOUR DATES

“Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour” Visits
Cincinnati’s Aronoff Center on November 1, 2014

CAA_Alton Brown(Cincinnati, OH) – Renowned foodist and television personality Alton Brown today announced the return of Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour, on the heels of the successful inaugural run to 46 U.S. cities. Over 100,000 tickets were sold for the Food Network star’s show, featuring a pinch of comedy, talk show antics, a multimedia lecture, live music (he sings!) and a dash of “extreme” food experimentation (ponchos are provided for those in the first few rows), and of course…puppets. Enthusiastic fans and critics have raved about the interactive component where Brown invites audience members on stage to serve as his assistant.

Brown will bring Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour to the Aronoff Center’s Procter & Gamble Hall on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 8:00 PM. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 6 at 10:00 AM and are available at http://www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office. Group discount tickets for 10 or more are available by calling (513) 977-4157. The event is part of the Cincinnati Arts Association’s 2014-15 Season.

“We have combined science, music, food, and a few other things no one in his right mind would allow me to do on TV, into a two hour extravaganza that’s fun for the whole family,” says Brown. He has been cultivating the show’s material for about a decade and wrote most of the musical numbers which all take a comedic look at food.

Brown, author of seven books, including the James Beard Award-winning I’m Just Here for the Food and The New York Times best-selling sequence Good Eats, has hosted numerous food series including Iron Chef America. He currently serves as host on the game show Cutthroat Kitchen and as a mentor/judge on Food Network Star, which premiers its 10th season on June 1. Brown created, produced, and hosted the Peabody Award-winning series Good Eats” for thirteen years on Food Network, which still can be seen on the Cooking Channel.

Those craving Brownian wit and wisdom from its truest source can find additional show and ticketing information at www.altonbrowntour.com

About Alton Brown
Although Alton Brown spent plenty of time in his mom’s kitchen growing up, his real interest in food sparked in college when he discovered that girls who said “no” to dates sometimes said “yes” if he offered to cook for them. His social life may have not ignited, but the food spark did, and after spending a decade behind the camera in the commercial industry, he headed to culinary school in hopes of one day creating a new kind of cooking show. Good Eats, the show that Brown would go on to write, produce, and host ran for thirteen straight years on Food Network before making the jump to Cooking Channel where it airs today. Combining food science, pop culture, skit humor, innovative cooking, and the occasional belching puppet, Good Eats has millions of fans and garnered a coveted Peabody Award for broadcast excellence.

Listen and dance to The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra and create new history at Music Hall Ballroom – Classic Big Band Music in a Classic Venue!

The legendary Glenn Miller was one of the most successful of all the dance bandleaders back in the Swing era of the 1930s and ’40s. A matchless string of hit records, the constant impact of radio broadcasts, and the drawing power at theaters, hotels, and dance pavilions built and sustained their momentum of popularity.

Due to popular demand, the Miller Estate authorized the formation of the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956 under the direction of drummer Ray McKinley, who had become the unofficial leader of the Army Air Force Band after Glenn’s disappearance. Since then, other leaders have followed Ray, including clarinetists Buddy DeFranco and Peanuts Hucko; trombonists Buddy Morrow, Jimmy Henderson, and Larry O’ Brien; and tenor saxophonist Dick Gerhart. The band continues to perform all the many hit songs made famous by the band such as “Moonlight Serenade,” “Sunrise Serenade,” “In The Mood,” “My Reverie,” “Little Brown Jug,” “‘Nearness of You,” “I’ve Got A Gal In Kalamazoo,” and “Indian Summer.”
