Cambree Bernkopf as Domino, Allison Minnick as Queen Drunella & Lily Cutler as Snow White.

Beavercreek—The Children’s Theatre production of THE POISONED APPLE by Dave Barton, will explore good and evil and the classic Brothers Grimm tale of a magic mirror, a queen, a princess, a prince, dwarves and more.

The play will be presented at the Beavercreek Community Theatre on Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, at 7 p.m.; Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m.; and Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m. For ticket information, call the box office at 429-4737.

Directed by Kaleigh-Brooke Dillingham, “The Poisoned Apple,” is a telling of Snow White, but not the Disney version.

“The main character is Queen Drunella—it’s more about her than anyone else,” Dillingham said. “With the mirror character, it’s not so much about showing how evil the Queen is, it’s that the mirror is the evil one and who is manipulative and in charge.”

With ages ranging from seven to 15, Dillingham said there is a lot of energy in the cast and the show is for all ages.

“We get to explore good and evil. People in the show can be representative of people in our lives. We’re trying to bring it to a relatable level. The play is not set in medieval time—it’s happening now,” Dillingham said noting that the costumes are more contemporary, too.

BCT_Til Beth Do Us Part‘TIL BETH DO US PART
Presented by Beavercreek Community Theatre
Jan. 24-Feb. 2
Beavercreek

Directed by Dionne Meyer

Cast: Jennie Hawley as Suzannah, Steve Strawser as Gibby, Dawn Roth Smith as Margo,
Craig Smith as Hank, Jill Proudfoot as Beth & Nancy Albert as Celia

In this side-splitting comic romp about marriage, career-driven Suzannah Hayden needs more help on the home front than she’s getting from her husband, Gibby. Enter Beth Bailey, Suzannah’s newly-hired assistant, a gregarious, highly-motivated daughter of the South. To Suzannah’s delight, Beth explodes into the Hayden household and whips it into an organized, well-run machine. This couldn’t have happened at a better time for Suzannah, since her boss, Celia Carmichael, the C.E.O. of Carmichael’s Chocolates, is flying in soon for an important make-or-break business dinner. Gibby grows increasingly wary as Beth insinuates herself into more and more aspects of their lives. When he realizes it’s Suzannah’s career Beth is really after, Gibby sets out to save his marriage aided by Suzannah’s best friend, Margo. Their effort to stop Beth at any cost sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry just as Suzannah’s boss arrives for that all-important dinner.
