Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati presents regional premiere Comedy
Grand Horizons, January 14 – February 5, 2023

(Cincinnati, OH) Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) kicks off the new year with the regional premiere comedy Grand Horizons by award-winning playwright Bess Wohl. It’s out with the old and in with the new (sort of) in this raucous story about a senior couple’s divorce. Bess Wohl’s Tony-nominated comedy is a hilarious, heartbreaking commentary on marriage, family, and the wisdom that comes with age—or not. Playing January 14-February 5, 2023. Directed by Brian Robertson.

Over a quiet dinner for two, Bill and Nancy serenely decide to divorce after fifty years of marriage. While Nancy feels liberated and Bill seems unfazed, their adult sons Brian and Ben don’t exactly take it well. As the “kids” descend on the Grand Horizons senior living community to mediate, everything they thought they knew about their parents comes crashing down. Bursting with all the joy and pathos of everyday life, Grand Horizons is theatre at its most enjoyable and familiar.

“It’s about following your bliss and that it’s never too late to try and become who you want to be,” says Producing Artistic Director D. Lynn Meyers. “Grand Horizons is a brutally honest and almost biting story about life’s experiences but seen through a comedic lens. It teaches us to cherish what we have in the moment but to keep looking for what you think will make you happy, whatever or whoever that may be.”

Registration Open: Hearts Afire Valentine Pageant

COL_Pageant

Loveland resident Camila Medina has been crowned the 2023 Miss Ohio Elementary Kindergarten. Medina will assist with the Hearts Afire Valentine Pageant for ages 1-4. The fundraiser pageant will be held Feb. 11, 2023, to benefit the Loveland Stage Company.

Calling all little sweethearts! Fun pageant for babies and toddlers

LOVELAND, OHIO (Dec. 23, 2022) — Do you have a little sweetheart? The City of Loveland is partnering with the Loveland Stage Company to host the first Hearts Afire Valentine Pageant on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, from 1-3 p.m.

The pageant is part of Hearts Afire Weekend (Feb. 10-12), a city-wide event celebrating Valentine’s Day.

The Hearts Afire Valentine Pageant is a baby/toddler fundraiser pageant to benefit a local cause, the Loveland Stage Company’s HVAC system replacement. The Loveland Stage Company is a not-for-profit, award-winning theater located in the heart of Historic Downtown Loveland. It is entirely operated by volunteers who create performing arts experiences for all ages. The theater is raising funds to replace its HVAC system — an estimated $100k repair.

“The pageant is part of the fun of Hearts Afire Weekend. Loveland is like a Hallmark movie during Valentine’s Day. What’s cuter than a kid dressed up like Cupid?” said city volunteer and pageant coordinator Christina Jeranek.

The purely fun pageant is for ages 1-4. Ages 1-2 will compete to be crowned Little Ms. Valentine and Little Mr. Cupid. Ages 3-4 will compete to be crowned Ms. Valentine and Mr. Cupid. The pageant will be judged by the Loveland Valentine Ladies, a local group of women known for their community service.

In the spirit of love, all funds raised by the pageant will benefit the theater. Admission is $5. There will be a “Fan Favorite” award where the audience can participate for $1 per vote. The contestant entry fee is $15.

The pageant will feature an appearance by the 2023 Miss Ohio Elementary Kindergarten, Camila Medina. Medina is a Loveland resident.

THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT Takes the Stage at Falcon Theatre

FT_Lifespan of a Fact logoTHE BATTLE OF FACTS VERSUS TRUTH

THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT BY JEREMY KARAKEN, DAVID MURRRELL & GORDON FARRELL TAKES THE STAGE AT FALCON THEATRE

“…buoyantly literate…wholly resonant questions [are] wrestled with in this briskly entertaining play…you’ll find yourself happy to have your preconceptions disturbed and assumptions unsettled.” —Washington Post

PRODUCTION RUNS JANUARY 27 THROUGH FEBRUARY 11, 2023

(Newport, KY) — Falcon Theatre begins 2023 with the 2018 Broadway hit, The Lifespan of a Fact.

The Lifespan of a Fact soberly examines the question, “Are truth and fact necessarily the same thing?” When magazine intern Jim Fingal is assigned to fact-check a piece by renowned writer John D’Agata, battle lines are quickly drawn. Fingal’s eye for factual detail contrasts starkly with the more seasoned author’s goal of telling the most compelling story…a story not perfectly aligned with the facts of the incident on which it is based.

The 2018 Broadway opening of The Lifespan of a Fact featured Daniel Radcliff, Bobby Cannavale and Cherry Jones.

This resonant, timely, and challenging production is directed by Ed Cohen and features a cast that includes Susan Jung, Christopher Wells and Jay Woffington.

Performances are January 27, 28, and February 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 & 11, 2023. All performances at 8:00 PM. Ticket prices are $28 for adults and $15 for students with valid ID. Visit falcontheater.net for details and to reserve your seats.

Health and Safety Information
In keeping with our policy of putting safety first and also responding to national and local health and safety guidelines, Falcon will no longer require vaccination or negative COVID-19 tests of our patrons. Masks are welcome and strongly recommended, but not required. Please read through all our health and safety guidelines here for full details, which will be updated with all the latest changes so check back before coming to the theater to ensure you understand the current safety guidelines.
