The Princess Plays offers a fresh take on two beloved fairy tales. Snow White and the Dancing Dwarfs reinvents the classic Brothers Grimm story, adding dance and music to the mix. The seven dwarfs take center stage in this production, enchanting audiences with their rhythm and skill. Meanwhile, Sleeping Beauty: Rise and Shine takes a steam punk twist on the traditional story, featuring a bold and unconventional princess, Aurora, who forges her own path and learns to believe in herself through rock music and a journey of self-discovery.

In this new play written by a local playwright, Momus, God of Satire, Blame and Criticism, travels with Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, Passion and Beauty, to Athens, Ohio in search of a man willing to die out of love for her. Hilarity ensues. Does love conquer all? More importantly, can two Greek gods actually find happiness in Athens, Ohio?

When they decide to flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths are quickly estranged when Tunny enters the armed forces, Will is called back home to attend to familial responsibilities, and Johnny’s attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship. Winner of two Tony Awards, AMERICAN IDIOT is a high-octane, energy-fueled rock opera, featuring every song from Green Day’s album, AMERICAN IDIOT, as well as several songs from its follow-up release, 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN. Adult language and situations, including drug use and wartime violence.

THE HELLO GIRLS chronicles the story of America’s first women soldiers in this new musical inspired by true events.  Presented during Women’s History Month, this is the story of women who answered the call, with music and lyrics by Peter Mills; book by Peter Mills and Cara Reichel. These intrepid heroines served as bilingual telephone operators on the front lines, helping turn the tide of World War I.  They then returned home to fight a decades-long battle for equality and recognition, paving the way for future generations.

Russian conductor Anna Rakitina leads works by two composers who have lived with hearing loss—Beethoven, whose hearing struggle began a decade before the premiere of his Fifth Symphony, and British composer Richard Ayres, whose No. 52 explores, in the composer’s words, “one specific subject: Ludwig van Beethoven’s hearing loss and its effect on him.” Soloist Sterling Elliott, in his CSO debut, brings “impeccable technique and musicality” to Dvořák’s Cello Concerto.
