CINCINNATI, OH— Cincinnati’s premier fundraiser returns in early 2020 when the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) presents MOVEABLE FEAST. Help fuel the future of the arts and light the way for CCM students at this unique benefit event on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.

For one night only, Cincinnati audiences can experience CCM’s student stars of tomorrow in a variety of performances that showcase the full spectrum of the performing and media arts. The funds raised by the event enable CCMpower to fuel the future of the arts by awarding student scholarships and grants.

Attendees roam through the expansive CCM Village, socializing and enjoying dinner-by-the-bite provided by Jeff Thomas Catering while creating their own menu of artistic experiences. Guests plan their own schedule of 20-minute samplings of student and faculty entertainment, including Jazz, Choral, Musical Theatre, Piano, Opera, Acting, Dance and Orchestra performances, along with tours of CCM’s Electronic Media facilities, Lighting Design labs and other backstage areas.

Cincinnati, OH — Carol Burnett, award-winning actress and best-selling author, is widely recognized by the public and her peers for her work on stage and screen, most notably The Carol Burnett Show. The legendary actress and comedienne brings her one-woman show, An Evening of Laughter and Reflection Where the Audience Asks the Questions to the Aronoff Center’s Procter & Gamble Hall on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 7:30 PM. DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND, AN ADDITONAL PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN ADDED ON MONDAY, MAY 4, 2020 AT 7:30 PM.

Tickets for the added May 4 performance go on sale Friday, January 10 at 10:00 AM at CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office.  The previously announced May 5 performance is currently on sale with limited availability.

Named in 2007 by TIME magazine as one of the “100 Best Television Shows of All Time,” The Carol Burnett Show ran for 11 years, averaged 30 million viewers per week, and received 25 Emmy Awards, making it one of the most honored shows in television history. But it is Ms. Burnett’s artistic brilliance, her respect and appreciation of her fans, and her graciousness, integrity, warmth, and humor on and off screen that have made her one of the most beloved performers in entertainment, and one of the most admired women in America.

During An Evening of Laughter and Reflection, Burnett will take questions from the audience and show video clips from her shows in a format that harkens back to the legendary openings of The Carol Burnett Show, where her studio audience had an unfiltered opportunity to engage Carol with questions and receive spontaneous answers.  “I love the spontaneity of these evenings,” said Carol. “I never know what anyone is going to ask, or say, or do, so it keeps me on my toes!”

As a highly-acclaimed actress, Ms. Burnett has been honored with Emmys, Golden Globes, People’s Choice Awards, the Horatio Alger Award, an Ace Award, and the Peabody. Lewis: My Life’s Journey at the Aronoff Center’s intimate Jarson-Kaplan Theater for four performances only:  Friday, February 28 at 7:30 PM; Saturday, February 29 at 4:00 PM and 7:30 PM; and March 1 at 2:00 PM. The year is 1962 and C.S. Lewis, the famous British author, is hosting a group of American writers at his home near Oxford. They are about to experience a captivating evening with a man whose engaging conversation and spontaneous humor made him one of the great raconteurs of his day. Seated in his living room, he recalls the people and events that inspired his thoughts and shaped his life, his friendship with J.R.R. Tolkien, why he nearly abandoned the Narnia Chronicles, how he came to embrace Christianity, and the American woman who turned his life upside down.

David Payne’s An Evening with C.S. Lewis has proved to be an enthralling theatrical experience, one which has led many thousands to discover, or rediscover, the continuing impact of a man who died more than fifty years ago, and whose collected works made him one of the literary giants of the 20th Century.

London born actor/playwright David Payne’s first encounter with C.S. Lewis was when, as a teenager, he was given a copy of Lewis’ best-selling book The Screwtape Letters.  Little did he realize that some forty years later he would be gaining a reputation for his portrayals of its famous author. He has played Lewis in a number of productions of Shadowlands; in his self-penned Weep for Joy; in more than five-hundred presentations of An Evening with C.S. Lewis: My Life’s Journey; and in St. Jack & The Dragon, a touching, yet sometimes hilarious, account about the relationship between Lewis and his adopted mother, Janie Moore. Payne’s latest self-penned, Lewis-based show is Wardrobes & Rings, which focuses on the very last meeting between Lewis and his great friend, J.R.R. Tolkien.

NO PROMISES 2019 EP Release – The Nines
NO PROMISES is dressed “to the nines” in their slick 2019 release, featuring jazz standards spanning a century of musical gems. Kicking off with an homage to the beloved John Coltrane interpretation of “My Favorite Things,” the group’s musical theatre stripes are also on display with a crafty treatment of the Gershwins’ 1930s classic “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” featuring a rare and charming lead vocal from baritone Jeff Grooms. Bass Nat Comisar relishes a fond childhood memory with his lift of George
Shearing’s decadent piano arrangement of “Over The Rainbow.” A favorite ballad among the group’s live concert fans, the Andy Williams / Breakfast at Tiffany’s classic “Moon River” receives a rich studio velvet with lead vocal by Broadway veteran David Baum. The project wraps with an unexpected bossa reimagination of the Panic at the Disco hit “Death of a Bachelor,” featuring the impressively rangy vocals of opera crossover artist Schyler Vargas.

“The Nines” features the voices of Joshua Steele, Charlie Harper, David Baum, Jeff Grooms, Matt Croy and Nat Comisar, with special guest artists Noah Berry, Kyle Karnes and Schyler Vargas.

CDs and digital download cards are available at performances for $10 and $5, respectively. Concert goers will also be able to purchase CDs of all three NO PROMISES studio records for $35. Digital content available at iTunes, Spotify and more.
