CFF_Fringe in the MachineFRINGE IN THE MACHINE
Presented as part of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival ’13
Coffee Emporium
Over-the-Rhine

One year ago, at this very festival, the members of OTRimprov appeared on stage for the first time under their new moniker to present the premiere of their flagship long-form improv, The Chronicle, with the help of some visiting Fringe artists. Now, after a year of presenting monthly programming at Know Theatre,  OTRi is back again to present you with your required dosage of improvisational comedy during Fringe. Come to give us suggestions, stay to see what we do with them.

CFF13: FOREALISM-TRIBE

FOREALISM-TRIBE
Presented as part of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival ’13
1221 Jackson Street
Over-the-Rhine

FOREALISM-TRIBE is a collective of dynamic costumed street performers and artists from Cincinnati.  Their base of operations is Over the Rhine.  F-TRIBE takes art to the streets and to the people, combining the ancient rituals of drums, costumes and movement, with contemporary performance art practices.  FOREALISM TRIBE combines ‘low brow’ street art and ‘high brow’ fine art, eliminating the boundaries between the two.  F-TRIBE has performed in locations as diverse as the streets of OTR, Washington Park, Fountain Square, Ludlow Theatre, Contemporary Arts Center, and the Cincinnati Art Museum.  FOREALISM-TRIBE’s mission is to promote, support, inspire, and encourage freedom of expression, creativity, individuality, arts, community, harmony, and respect in our society. We also support and encourage street performance and art making in the streets of Cincinnati and around the world.

Follow the trail of a killer through murky paranormal city streets in the world’s only one-man comedy film noir magical murder mystery! Marvel at impossible deductions from clues supplied by you, the spectator! Think Boardwalk Empire meets X-Files meets Naked Gun. Part stand up, part mentalism, part theater, all gritty 1940’s nostalgia.

CFF13: CONFESSIONS OF A CAT LADY (WITH A SIDE OF CRAZY!)

CFF_Confessions of a Cat LadyCONFESSIONS OF A CAT LADY (WITH A SIDE OF CRAZY!)
Presented as part of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival ’13
1334 Main Street
Over-the-Rhine

The show is based on true confessions, most of which stem from my main flaw, jealousy. Some people think some of my confessions are so off the wall I made them up. But I do think Jesus is hot and I really NEVER go poop in public places! I am severely jealous of my husband’s toned legs and I never wear shorts. The confessions expose a different side of a “cat lady,” that will make you laugh. It’s a blend of hilarious confessions delivered in a physical way that leads to a great message at the end.
