The Footlighters, Inc. is accepting submissions for directors for the 2020-2021 season. If you would like to be considered, please send the following information to Cathy Lutts, Chair of the Director/Play Selection Committee, at preciousmoment65@gmail.com. Please include ‘Director Submission’ in the subject line of the email.
A one-page letter of interest briefly detailing the shows you’re interested in directing for the upcoming 2020-2021 season. Please consider the list below that was composited from the patron survey, and 2 additional shows of your choosing.
A theater resume that includes your contact information.
The deadline to submit materials is Friday October 18, 2019. Interested directors will be contacted the week of October 25th to schedule interviews, which will take place at the Stained Glass Theatre in early November. When you are selected for an interview, you will be asked to provide more specific information about the shows you are interested in directing, including potential production staff.
Plans are to produce a 3-show season for 2020-2021. Each production will have 16 performances.
Footlighters, Inc. was founded in 1963 and since 1987 has owned its own facility, The Stained Glass Theatre in Newport, KY. It continually attracts outstanding talent for its productions, and has received local, state, and national awards for outstanding production quality, individual and ensemble performances, and technical achievements.

Cincinnati, OH — Know Theatre of Cincinnati invites artists of all kinds and sorts, from those hugging the banks of the Ohio River to those based overseas, to apply for the 17th Annual Cincinnati Fringe Festival (May 29 – June 13, 2020). A 14-day theatre and arts extravaganza, Cincy Fringe (as it’s succinctly known) features an abundance of opportunities for independent artists in the worlds of theatre, visual art, music, film, dance, and everything between to present their work to paying audiences. And if you’re Kinda WEIRD, well, don’t worry…so are we!
Fringe programming features numerous categories and therefore numerous applications. For more info on applying, including this year’s Frequently Asked Question document, and to view the applications, artists can head over to https://www.cincyfringe.com/apply. Some applications feature a fee ($15-60), but some are free to submit. All applications for the 2020 Cincinnati Fringe Festival are due by 11:59PM EST on Sunday, December 8th, 2019.

Job Summary:
Assistant Professor (tenure-track) to teach theatre courses including costume design and other courses according to the needs of the department; maintain a creative and research agenda; advise students; and provide service to the institution.
The department has a B.A. program and is committed to cultivating exchange between theatre studies and skills-based training to produce students who are civically engaged.
Faculty in the department value sustainability and interdisciplinarity and are committed to the development of new and devised work including collaborations with other departments in the division. Duties:
Teach theatre courses including costume design and other courses according to the needs of the department; maintain a creative and research agenda; advise students; and provide service to the institution.
Minimum Qualifications:
MFA in costume design, theatrical design with an emphasis in costume, or scenography by date of appointment.
Desired Qualifications:
Consideration may be given to candidates with a record of effective teaching; experience and engagement in the profession; interest in a secondary area of design or other areas of theatre artistry; a research/creative agenda that incorporates devising, community-based theatre, African-American theatre, Latinx theatre, and LGBTQ+ theatre, international theatre, and/or other contemporary practices; or membership in USITT and/or USAA.
