Music Director Sought for BRIDGE CITY at American Legacy Theatre

MISSION
American Legacy Theatre generates inviting, reimagined theatrical experiences for all people to have a voice in enriching society.

PROJECT
Bridge City is an original full-length musical focused around community, family, loyalty to self, and normalizing the Black experience in pursuit of joy, dreams and aspirations. Developed by American Legacy Theatre since July 2024 through our “Playwright’s for Change” program, this piece is written and composed by Kennen Butler who is an NYC-based theatre artist that is non-binary and Black.

After two public-facing workshops performed for the community to receive direct feedback in shaping the continued development of the piece, Bridge City is now being produced as a full-scale world-premiere production.

** Rehearsals will be five days per week from March 9th- April 9th, including weekends. Evenings during the week and varying times when on weekends. March 23-27 will be off for Spring Break. Tech rehearsals will begin April 4 and/or 5, depending on space availability.
*** Performances will be April 10-12, 17-19, 24-26. (Friday and Saturday evenings, Sunday matinees).

EXPECTATION
The Music Director (MD) will be in charge of leading all music in rehearsals- playing piano, teaching and refining the vocalists and the band of the show. Backgrounds in the following genres are encouraged and appreciated: R&B, Rap, Soul, Musical Theatre.

The Music Director will be responsible for finding musicians to play in the 5-piece band during performances; two keys, drums, bass, guitar. The Music Director must play the piano, as they will also play during performances while conducting.

ALT staff will be available to assist with critical components along the way.

COMPENSATION
The Music Director will be paid a one time rate of $1,500. This stipend will be lower if the MD cannot play the piano.

Submit by December 10th, 2025 for first consideration. Applications are still accepted afterwards if the position is not filled.

In your cover letter please address how you are well positioned to lead the music efforts that celebrate the Black experience. Because of the complexity of the music in Bridge City, music director candidates under consideration will be asked to do a piano audition of some of the show’s music.

Actors/Historical Interpreters Sought for WINTER WALK Event in February

Caesar’s Ford Theatre, Inc is working with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources regarding historical interpretation programming and historical re-enactments.

Clifton Gorge Reserve is in need of actors / historical interpreters for its annual “Winter Walk” Event on February 7, 2026 at Clifton Gorge Preserve.  Actors will portray local historically significant individuals associated with the preserve in an interactive outdoor venue. Actors Sought for NKU Senior Thesis Project FIRST BLUE SKY

Logline: As a criminal shelters a distressed woman in a hotel, he finds himself confronted with a strange attraction to her and unable to outpace his misdeeds.

“First Blue Sky” is a short film being produced in the Greater Cincinnati Area, shooting throughout January and February of 2026. “First Blue Sky” is a neo-noir romance-mystery set in the near future. The film is gritty and surreal, with a narrative focus on relational dependency, projection, and manipulation.

We are looking to cast two paid, non-union leads:

  • JACK: The protagonist. A man in his mid to late 20s, working as a home security system salesman by day, but leading a more nefarious life by night. Jack represents a generation of young people in the workforce who have been pushed into a hyper-commercialized and alienating environment. Barely making ends meet, Jack has found himself wrapped up in a dangerous criminal environment. Jack desperately craves love and understanding, which results in a strange and fantastical relationship with Christy of his own design.
  • CHRISTY: The mysterious love interest, a woman in her mid to late 20s. Christy is representative of romantic and emotional phantasm, or the people we shape our partners and love interests to be in our minds. She is an escape for Jack, a muse, a project – whatever he wants her to be, she can become. Throughout the film, however, conflict arises as she begins to become aware of her inconsistent past and her distorted mind.

Additionally, we are looking for a few supporting, non-paid roles:

  • RUCKUS and ROWDY: The “henchman” type, large, intimidating men with some speaking parts (40s or 50s).
  • MR. HAYS: A crime boss – confident, intimidating, but calculated. Some speaking parts. A man in his 40s or 50s.
  • MATT: A stubborn suburban husband whom Jack tries to sell a home security system to. A man in his early to mid-30s. A few sentences of dialogue.
  • LORI: Matt’s wife, early to mid-30s. A few sentences of dialogue.

Casting Call for Fever’s THE JURY EXPERIENCE – DEATH ON THE PORT SIDE (Non-Union)

Currently in 120+ cities worldwide, The Jury Experience is an immersive theatrical courtroom drama where the audience plays the role of the Jury – votes throughout the experience will determine the events of the trial and ultimately decide the fate of the defendant.

Cases are being tested, developed, and scaled based on success. Touring opportunities are possible in select markets.

You have been asked to audition for the DEATH ON THE PORT SIDE murder case.

The privileged child of a powerful Senator stands accused of murder after a fatal boating crash leaves their former lover dead and two friends critically injured.

Was this a tragic accident brought on by youth, alcohol, and jealousy—or a deliberate act of revenge? Did the accused’s powerful family influence the investigation, or is there truth behind the defense’s claim of sabotage?

The Jury will decide.

SHOW DATES
Fever is casting for show dates in Cincinnati. You must be available for all scheduled dates listed below. Additional dates will be added depending on local interest and will be communicated to actors well in advance.

The show will rehearse locally 2-3 weeks before the first performance.

COMPENSATION
Rehearsal pay is $16/hour (up to 46 hours) and a flat rate of 325$ per day for performances at Memorial Hall OTR.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

  • PROSECUTOR – Female (20-30)
    A brilliant but relatively young Assistant District Attorney with something to prove. Sharp-tongued, confident, and ambitious, the Prosecutor is determined to convince the Jury that Dylan Gilroy acted out of jealousy and rage—and that this so-called “accident” was, in truth, an act of murder.
  • DEFENSE ATTORNEY – Male (40s)
    Seasoned and eloquent, the Defense Attorney brings charm and gravitas to the table. He believes that Dylan is a victim of circumstance, fighting not only to prove innocence but to also expose the political and media bias that threatens to destroy the accused’s life. A master storyteller who knows how to sway a Jury with empathy and intellect.
  • JUDGE – Any Gender (40+)
    The Jury’s trusted guide and voice of reason. Firm yet approachable, the Judge maintains order in a courtroom filled with strong personalities and high-stakes emotion. They act as the bridge between the audience and the trial, ensuring every decision the Jury makes feels meaningful and fair.
  • DYLAN GILROY (the Defendant) – Any Gender (20s)
    Young, privileged, and visibly shaken. The child of a Senator, Dylan straddles the line between remorse and resentment. Haunted by the loss of his lover Parker Trivanti, Dylan insists the crash was an accident—but mounting evidence, emotional instability, and public scrutiny threaten to unravel their composure.
  • SENATOR GILROY – Any Gender (50s+)
    A seasoned politician and the parent of the accused. Protective and commanding, the Senator brings both credibility and controversy to the stand. Torn between personal love and public image, they introduce the chilling possibility that the crash was sabotage—and not murder at all.

You have been asked to audition for the role of the Defense Attorney.

You will be reading sides of the Auto Taxi Case. Should the role be awarded to you, you will be our DA for another case as well.

Auto Taxi moral dilemma:

The CEO of a leading Robotaxi company faces manslaughter charges after one of his Robo taxis swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle and killed cyclist Alex Rivers in the process – a husband and father of two.

Was the AI technology brought to market by Anthony Hulmer prepared to make life and death decisions at the time of its release, or were critical procedures neglected in order to grab market shares? Does he deserve 10 years in prison? Did the vehicle cause a homicide or prevent a higher number of deaths?

The Jury will decide.

The show will rehearse starting on Nov 3rd locally until opening and a schedule will be made according to Actor’s availability
