About the 2023 Summer Festival:
For more than a century, summer in Cincinnati has signaled the return of Cincinnati Opera’s annual Summer Festival. Cincinnati Opera’s 2023 Summer Festival includes four operas throughout June and July at historic Music Hall, along with a vibrant variety of smaller-scale performances and engaging community events. The 2023 Summer Festival includes: Opera in the Park (June 11), a free, family-friendly concert of opera favorites in Washington Park; Gaetano Donizetti’s haunting Scottish thriller Lucia di Lammermoor (June 22 and 24); the world stage premiere of Aleksandra Vrebalov and Deborah Brevoort’s moving opera about American military families, The Knock (June 23 and 27, July 2, 5, and 7); Gioachino Rossini’s supremely silly The Barber of Seville (July 6 and 8); Studio Sessions (July 12 and 19), intimate, cabaret-style concerts featuring opera artists; and a thrilling new production of Giacomo Puccini’s Madame Butterfly (July 22, 27, and 29) created by an all-Japanese and Japanese American design team. The Passing of Dan Toon

RP_Dan ToonWe at Rivertown Players are heartbroken to hear of the passing of one of our original members, Dan Toon. In his time with Rivertown, Dan has participated in every way imaginable. From performing on stage, to directing, to serving on the Board of Directors, to singing in the Rivertown Chorus, Dan did it all. He even wrote and cowrote many of our Hillforest Murder Mysteries.

Aside from all the work and talent he gave to this organization, Dan was also a friendly face you could always count on. Many people considered him the unofficial welcoming committee of RTP. He greeted everyone with a smile and welcomed every new person.

The impact Dan had on Rivertown is insurmountable and he will be greatly missed. Please keep his wife Bev and his son Patrick in your thoughts.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church, Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 3 pm, with Pastor Ryan Goode officiating.

Anyone who has sung What Would I Do Without My Music is invited to sing at the end of the service. Music will be provided.
