Auditions Announced for TWELFTH NIGHT and TAMING OF THE SHREW Musical at Southbank Shakespeare

Southbank Shakespeare is pleased to announce auditions for our upcoming sixth summer season!

Auditions will take place at Thomas More University March 28-29 from 11am – 6pm.

TWELFTH NIGHT (Performances June 18-21, outdoors at the TMU Observatory Lawn): Actors should prepare one Shakespeare monologue in comedic style. Video auditions will be accepted through March 27th. (The role of Maria has been precast. All other roles are open.)

TAMING OF THE SHREW Musical (Performances July 16-19 in the TMU Theatre): Actors should prepare one of the script sides (found in the Google Drive linked below). Actors who would like to be considered for singing roles should prepare a 32 bar cut of a popular Ska or Pop-Punk song representing their vocal range.

We are also looking for instrumentalists, as our original Ska-Punk musical adaptation of Taming of the Shrew is entirely performed vocally and instrumentally by actors live on stage. Because of this, we are asking actors and musicians to record video submissions of themselves playing a song in the style of the show. (Ex: Paramore and Reel Big Fish) We are looking for the following instruments: guitar, bass, drum kit, trumpet, trombone, saxophone.

If you have any questions, please email Lauren Davidson (Stage Manager) at davidsonle3@gmail.com or Phillip Webster (Artistic Director) at 9tenor11@gmail.com
