PLEASE PREPARE & PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR AUDITION:
- 16-32 bars of a Broadway-style song that showcases your vocal range.
- Sheet music in the proper key with cuts marked. An accompanist will be provided (no
CD’s, tapes or a cappella numbers). - Shoes and clothing appropriate for a dance audition
- A copy of your resume and headshot.
- Your audition form.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
This brassy, bold musical comedy follows the hapless but unflappable Charity Hope Valentine in her search for love, friendship, and the chance to make it big in The Big Apple. With music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Dorothy Fields, and book by Neil Simon, this Tony Award nominated, danceinfused musical captures all the humor and heartbreak of life in 1960s New York City.
Characters
- Charity Hope Valentine, the girl who wanted to be loved.
- Oscar Lindquist, a man whom Charity befriends and eventually falls in love with.
- Charlie, Charity’s boyfriend in the opening of the show, and the name on her tattoo
- Nickie and Helene, Charity’s closest friends who are taxi dancers at the Fandango Ballroom.
- Herman, the authoritarian owner of the Fandango Ballroom; Charity’s boss.
- Vittorio Vidal, a famous Italian movie star.
- Ursula March, Vittorio’s girlfriend
- Manfred, Vittorio’s butler
- Daddy Johann Sebastian Brubeck, the enigmatic leader of the Rhythm of Life Church.
- Carmen, a dancer at the Fandango Ballroom who is friends with Nickie, Helene, and Charity

Sweet Charity is directed and choreographed by Genevieve Perrino, produced by Karen and
Cody Hendershot and Kathy Beiting, with vocal direction by Lena Andrews and music direction by Shawn Charton.
Rehearsals will begin in February, 2025, and performance dates are May 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17,
