The Loveland Stage Company is proud to present Don’t Drink the Water, a play by Woody Allen. Set in an unnamed country behind the Iron Curtain, this is the story of an American Embassy and what can happen when the Ambassador must leave for business.
Not since 2013 has Loveland Stage Company produced a non-musical performance, and this selection is a hilarious return. Directed by Orchid Award winning director, John Sloan and produced by Orchid Award winners, Tom Cavano and Jill Gornet, this farcical tale covers everything from a love story to an international spy thriller. Don’t Drink the Water has been described as being “one big overfed American folk joke” and a “very funny situation comedy” by critic Otis L. Guernsey.
