SERIALS! 8: LIGHTNING CUBE Runs Feb. 19-April 16

KTC_Serials 8 logoSERIALS 8: LIGHTNING CUBE
Know Theatre of Cincinnati
Feb. 19-April 16
[Over-the-Rhine]

How does it work?

15 minute episodes of new plays, every two weeks, for a total of 5 installments.

Every week, YOU, the audience, votes on which 3 plays will continue for another episode, and which 2 will be banished to a dystopian theatrical wasteland!

The authors of the banished plays will then have to create entirely new stories which will take the stage two episodes later.

Directed by John Wesseling

It is December 1936, and Broadway star William Gillette, admired for his Sherlock Holmes portrayal, has invited his cast members for a weekend at his Connecticut castle. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. It’s up to Gillette who assumes the role of Holmes, to track down the killer. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.

2019 Season Announced by Mason Community Players

MCP_logoMCP has chosen the shows for 2019!

Kicking off 2019 will be THE VISIT directed by Alex Lisa. Alex has been a member of MCP since she was a very young lady. Alex will be making her directorial debut. She will be a high school senior in her final semester as she takes on this tense drama.

The Spring show will be SHEAR MADNESS directed by Michael Easterling. Michael joined MCP this past summer as Uncle Henry and the Gatekeeper in The Wizard of Oz. Michael will bring us one of the longest-running non-musical plays in the world. This who-dunit is dependent upon audience participation for its finale. You will want to be there to help determine how it all comes out in the end.

The 2019 summer musical is dependent upon the rights becoming available this Fall, so we cannot announce it as yet. It will be directed by Susan Berger, if all goes well … and, yes, there is a back-up plan in the event that rights are still withheld.

In the Fall, we will return to Tuna, Texas for the final installment in the Tuna series. It will be time to say farewell to the hilarious residents of the third smallest town in the state as TUNA DOES VEGASLaureen Catlin will once again be at the helm.

And wrapping up the 2019 season will be the highly acclaimed musical THE LAST 5 YEARS directed by Jason Gonzalez. It will be Jason’s first direction for MCP. Jason is an experienced veteran, not only of MCP, but of other area community theatres.
