This powerful musical tells the story of a group of teens as they discover that there may be more to this life that they don’t fully understand than they may have thought. Featuring beautiful songs like, “Mama Who Bore Me,” “My Junk” and “I Don’t Do Sadness.” This is a powerful show you don’t want to miss being a part of.
When:
- Friday, November 4th from 7-10pm
- Saturday, November 5th from 1-4pm
- Invited Callbacks: Sunday, November 6th from 1-4pm
Where:
St. Bartholomew Parish in the meeting room on the upper level of the Activities Center
Who:
Due to the more mature themes, and the heaviness of the script, all auditionees must be at least 13 years of age. This is the approximate age of the characters in the show, though it is usually performed by actors between 16-24. If you are unsure if this production is right for you, please do some research and be honest when making your decision.
What to Prepare:
All auditioness should come pepared with a song that best represents your vocal ability as well as your ability to hold your own on stage, as the musical numbers in this show are done “concert style.” You can sing acapella or with an accmpaniment track. There WILL NOT be an accompanist. Auditionees may also be asked to read from the script.
What we are looking for:
Strong performers who have the ability to develop a character beyond what is written on the page, as well as being able to draw the audience in with their solo vocal performace. Beyond the named characters in the script, we are looking for TWO, TRAINED FEMALE DANCERS and ONE TRAINED MALE DANCER to tell parts of the story through lyrical dance performance. These roles will also be part of the male or female “ensemble.” If you want to audition for one of the dance roles specifically, please come with a short combination to demonstrate your ability or we can teach one to you.
Other Information:
To schedule an audition time, please email queencityproductions@yahoo.com. Rehearsals will most likely be Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 7-9:30pm at Roger Bacon High School. Performances are January 6-9th at Roger Bacon High School.
